The House in the Cerulean Sea is a big gay hug that I think we all need from time to time. All of the characters are adorable. I haven’t laughed out loud at a book like this in quite a while.
Oh boy....the last quarter of this novel really doesn’t pull any punches.
Outside of the emotionally packed finale to the story, it is easy to see why this has so many positive reviews. The novel is beautifully written and hard to put down. You become deeply invested in the characters and get to enjoy a deeply queer narrative.
If you plan to read this, I recommend grabbing some tissues towards the end. You’re going to need them.
