Reading this book was quite an experience; I didn’t really know what to expect.
I enjoyed it a lot. I love Fin's personality; he is a well-rounded person, very determined in his goals and values, and I really like how well he connects with Walker.
Normally, I don't enjoy reading books where one of the love interests was previously with someone who passed away. I don't like it when they remarry, but thats a me problem. This was my attempt to push myself to change my perspective on these kinds of stories, and it worked. The way Walker talks about Connor was very beautiful.
One thing I would have liked is for the triplets to talk more about their father. We always see the conversations about the loss with Walker and Fin, but I don’t remember the girls giving their opinion. They are very happy about the new relationship and work together to bring them closer, but I needed a bit more about their memories of Connor.
I found it to be a light, quick, and enjoyable read. Also, the explicit scenes were very well-written. It has several tropes worth checking out before reading, they'rementionedin the beginning of the book. I would note that the book is somewhat kinky, and there’s age gap. Personally, this doesn’t bother me, but since the gap is quite large, proceed with caution.
I think the reason I didn’t give it 4 stars was because I’m not used to reading about my own job in a book, and it made me uncomfortable that I was reading certain dialogue and thinking, "Oh, this is a good way to handle that situation with the kids," but the entire scene was actually a steamy one. I really wasn’t expecting to read things I say to parents in such a context (but again, a me problem, it just took me off guard)
That said, I must admit that you can tell from the writing that the author knows what she’s talking about, and she reflects it in a very good way.
