lighthearted fast-paced

This story felt a little too kitschy and a little too unbelievable (that many successful people from one small town class?).  The premise is cute enough, the second-chance lovers trope is always fun- but the story itself is a mixed bag of short, punchy sentences and then rambling nonsense.
The tone is off- quirky interludes in the middle of supposed-to-be-dramatic moments throw it all off balance; almost as though the story is trying too hard to be fun.
This is the third in a series, but I don’t feel the need or desire to read the prior two stories- for me, it’s a one and done.
I received a digital version as an ARC from NetGalley.

I just couldn’t get into it, and had other books I wanted to read more than the desire to finish this.
