The story follows Weatherly, who is a Death Talker.  Deep in Appalachian Georgia, Weatherly’s family follows old ways of witchcraft intertwined with their Christian faith.  Weatherly has a gift, by a can’t save everyone- which even she doesn’t understand.  When her cousin is killed in what is labeled as an accident, Weatherly begins digging into the mysteries surrounding her family and her own gift.  

This is a great magical-realism mystery.  Beautifully written.  

Fun read- very twisty and unpredictable.  Perhaps a bit far-fetched.  Wanted to go back numerous times to reread things to see if I had missed clues- which is hard to do in digital form.  Definitely worth a read- I read it in less than 24 hours! 

Lots of time jumping, which is always challenging for me when reading digitally.  However, the book was beautifully written and had me interested from the start.  Multiple POVs, murder mystery genre, with beautiful imagery throughout.

A beautiful story about love, loss, and what ifs.  I didn’t want it to end! 
Harper and Ben are newlyweds faced with devastating news.  Through his sickness, Harper is reunited with a past love, Liam- and her worlds collide.  This is a beautiful, heartbreaking story about what it means to truly love someone.  

Such a fun YA series.   The second installment was just as twisty as the first, and even faster-paced.
