I read this book without reading the 2 previous books in the series. It was fine to read as a stand-alone and I wasn’t confused when characters from previous books were mentioned.
This was a well written “gay for you” plot line that flowed along nicely with good pacing. There was definitely chemistry between Reggie and Shohei and when “experimenting” together the heat level soared. They were both very likeable characters, both sweethearts, and I was invested in the journey to their HEA.
I found this to be a feel good read with minimal angst so it wasn’t overly emotional.
Slow burn friends to lovers
This is a sweet read with complex characters who are dealing with issues from the past.
Avery sees himself as the resident weirdo who has a constant battle to be taken seriously. The whole town knows his history and his sexuality. His parents kicked him out when he came out and his Aunt and Uncle took him in.
All he’s ever wanted was someone to be proud to be seen with him in public.
Lincoln is a closeted local firefighter with secrets. His father is released from prison after serving time for beating up Linc’s boyfriend 8 years ago.Linc was present at the assault and ran, and kept running. He meets Avery at a false alarm fire call and they form a friendship. They both play an online game and Avery isn’t aware that Linc is the player that he games with.
When there’s a possibility that Avery is going to leave town Lincoln realises he needs to step up and admit his truth.

Sassy, small town age gap romance.
This is a minimal angst, age gap romance about a sassy, flirty waiter and his kind, patient and protective boss.
Justice and Luther have a lot of chemistry between them. It takes a while to spark and start burning but when it does, the heat level turns up to high. They are both easy to like which makes this an easy, enjoyable book to read.
Justice has had a difficult past, is broke and uses his sass and humour to hide how alone he is. Luther is drawn to Justice from the very beginning and circumstances lead to Justice sharing Luthers house. With honest communication and after a minor blip in the road, they get their HEA.
