Where to begin! AEITA is one of my ALL TIME favorite series, so to say this was my most anticipated release of the year would be an understatement. THANK YOU Penguin Teen!
Not gonna lie, the beginning of this book threw me. The setting and magic system is very different from the Ember series, because we’re seeing new countries (?) and I was actually starting to feel like my knowledge of the series made me MORE confused because the world felt so different. But lemme tell you, that 25% mark CLICKED and STAYED locked in until the very end!
There are a handful of POVs in this, but the main three were delightful! The Aiz chapters were what really started me off kilter but when it finally came together, it all seemed so masterfully crafted! I loooove Quil and Sirsha!! They were definitely the highlight of this book for me. And the spice is UPPED in this one! Woooo, they were so cute and had me giggling and grinning the whole time. Also loved Sufiyan and Arelia and the four’s friendship. Their scenes had so much heart and also Sabaa’s humor which made me so happy. The scene where they tracked the chain reaction of killings that would have to happen??? I was ROLLLLLING
Obviously I loooved being back with my fave Ember characters! LAIA & ELIAS ARE EVERYTHING TO ME (Sabaa why would u hurt them like that??? I was legitimately mad on their behalf lmao like they’ve suffered enough PLS). Helene, Musa and Tas were all great! I thought the old characters were woven into this one really well and I think we’ll see even more of them in the next one (with hopefully less pain??? Right??? *sobs*)
Honestly this was really fantastic and the only reason I wouldn’t give it a full five stars is because of the slow-ish beginning and some of the Aiz chapters felt like they dragged. But I’m so pleased with this one and can’t wait for the sequel!

4.5! This was so good! I don’t know if there’s a term for this kind of book—a romance that sweeps through the years—but MAN, do they always manage to get me!!
I was a bit unsure about this one at the beginning—Rob and Natalie’s argument seemed a bit childish to me. And there were so many ups and downs! But the second half really came together. Though as much as I loved their relationship, it was really Natalie and Gabby’s friendship that made this story shine. I was in tears for most of the ending. I also liked Angus and his relationship w both Gabby and Natalie. The last 20% was really special. Still wiping away tears!

I enjoyed this! I like Hawley’s romances so was super interested to see how she’d fare in a fantasy setting, and overall I had fun. The beginning was slow, but it picked up around the 30% mark, and then I flew through the rest. As a romance girly I’m obviously very intrigued and excited to see how Kenna and Kallen’s relationship evolves (not sure how many books are planned but I’m READY for that slow burn). But the absolute highlight of this book was Kenna’s friendship with Lara. I loved seeing them work together and grow closer and I just adore Lara, she’s so sweet.
The ending had my jaw dropping multiple times and I’m so excited to see where this goes!

MY GOD. In two books, Julie Soto has firmly become an auto-buy author for me! Her books are FOR ME. She puts SOMETHING in them, I swear. They’re so addictive!
I liked this even more than Forget Me Not! Flewwww through it in one evening, giggling and grinning and kicking my feet and gasping the entire time. I loved Gwen so much and my GOD, loooooooooooved her and Alex’s dynamic. That man was quite literally DOWN BAD. Down HORRENDOUSLY Bad. It was thrilling to witness. The tension and the buildup was all so delicious and their relationship was adorable!
Just absolutely obsessed with this from start to finish. I cried at the ending, I loved seeing everything come together! Will be gobbling up everything Julie writes from now on nom nommmmmm

Wow, I LOVED this so so much!! The plot is kinda outrageous and it makes it all the more fun! Such an entertaining book, I was laughing out loud from beginning to end. It’s sprinkled with touching moments of dealing with the grief of losing a loved one that had me tearing up, too. The whole spectrum of emotions! Loved the quote about how you never stop grieving but you also never stop living.
The romance was so adorable! I loved Ryder and Emily, I looooooved their COMMUNICATION, we always cheer when miscommunications get cleared up quickly! Seeing both of them work through their grief and guilt and how it fosters their relationship was so satisfying to watch.
BIFF!!! I loved Biff.
The ending was tooth achingly sweet and I just had a grand ol time with this one. Will definitely check out this author’s other books! Also THIS COVER????? ITS EVERYTHING!

If I could just type incoherent screaming into this review box, I would. I CANNOT say enough good things, I loved this one sooooo much!
I’m a sucker for a sports romance but don’t actually remember if I’ve read a baseball one? If so, they all got knocked out of the PARK by this one. I didn’t really have many expectations going into this but was immediately sucked in until I finished it only hours later. I had the BEST time reading this; was absolutely screaming and kicking my feet and giggling like a maniac.
I absolutely adored Daphne and Chris, from their initial text interactions to their real-life relationship! They are both so charming and such a good pair. There were so many little things in this book that I loved—the focus on grief and panic attacks, the moment near the end between Daphne and her brother, Milo the cat, the deeper conversations between Daphne and Chris—it all just worked together so well. One big thing to commend- a third act breakup that did not feel AT ALL forced or randomly thrown into the plot, but was actually justified! And it made the resolution all that much better.
The ending was incredible, the last speech from Chris??? CHRIS KEPLER DREAM MAN FOR REALLLLLLL. There’s a line in there that legit stopped me in my tracks, had to take a few moments to recover from that one. This book just made me incandescently happy and I’m immediately going to dive into Thompson’s other books now too! One of my favorites of the year!

Thank you Simon Teen for the early copy!
WOW! Bonesmith was a book that I just could NOT stop thinking about after I finished, so this sequel was one of my most anticipated of this year. It did not disappoint!
This finale made me extremely happy! I was a smiling, giggling, crying mess by the end. I finished it in one sitting! These characters are so fun and I absolutely loved how everyone’s journey wrapped up. It never felt slow, and the action kept on coming. I LOVEE when series finales give you a breather at the end, no rushed endings here!
Wren and Julian were incredible again, both their individual and relationship arcs were handled very nicely in this. Their romance actually took a bit of a backseat in this one which if you had told me before, I would’ve been wary about, but I thought the pacing was great! Leo was amazing and I loved seeing Inara get a more featured role, too. But the highlight of this finale was definitely Hawke and Wren. Seeing their bond develop (with some DEFINITE ups and downs) was so endearing and I’m really happy with where they ended up. The bits with the animal familiars were especially touching. TAIL???? I cried.
I think this world and these characters are so much fun. I don’t know if there’s more story to tell from this world but I definitely wouldn’t say no! Will be checking out the author’s previous series after this.

4.5! What a laugh-out-loud delight! I didn’t know this was part of a series, but after the time I had reading this, I’ll definitely be reading the others!
This was sooo much fun. I love the wackiness of the world and all the silly magical names (ClipClop influencer might’ve been my fave). Eleanor and Ben were adorable! They worked so well together and I loved how they showed up for each other in times of stress. This was steamier than I would’ve expected! Very excited to go back and read the first book.

God, I loved this SO much. I’m an emotional mess!
The premise for this already sounded amazing so imagine my delight when it had ALL the tropes and situations that I could dream of rolled into it! I was constantly laughing out loud, Delphie was such a hilarious narrator. I was then pretty much constantly crying for the last 30% and the ending was so adorable! I loved the messages on living with grief and getting outside of your comfort zone.
This cast of characters were just fantastic. Aled, Frida, MR. YOON ILY, Merritt… just want to wrap them all in a hug. I adored Delphie and Cooper, they were so great and I loved their relationship. I did not predict the twist and I was FLABBERGASTED, soooo good! Every storyline was wrapped up so nicely. Definitely one of my favorites of the year so far. This is my first Kristy Greenwood book but don’t think it’ll be my last!
