3.5 stars! This had me in a vice grip, even with the overwhelming worldbuilding to start! I flew through this one and had fun, as I always do with dual POVs, my beloved. Though I ADORED Baz, Emory drove me absolutely insane. I was telepathically shaking the bejesus out of her like, “USE YOUR BRAIN WHAT ARE U DOING YOU FUCKIN FOOL” and she never listened. The plot twist was painfully predictable and I spent a majority of the second half annoyed by the love triangle and the climax. I think this book is just a bit too long; I ended up skimming quite a bit.

Even with my gripes, I am interested to see how the series will wrap up so will attempt to pick up the next book (I’ve been woefully unmotivated to keep up with ongoing series lately but I swear I’ll try!)

This was pretty fun but not my favorite Painter book. It’s probably more of a 3.5 but I was giggling for quite a bit of this so it gets rounded up. The minimal amount of Charlie chapters was a CRIME and at some points it got a bit too cheesy. Also it’s mentioned that Bailey has dark hair (pretty sure it said black once) so why does the girl on the cover have light hair..?

Re-read 4/29/18 : GREATNESS DOESN’T EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE THIS BOOK. MY GOD.
I’m SO happy I re-read this series. I fell in love with the story and the characters twice as hard and now I’m positive it’s one of my all-time fave series ever.
I would die for any of these characters. I treasure every one of them and this book DELIVERS on relationships and friendships. Saved the best for last indeed.
Also, the last 200 pages are just TEARS. I felt like I cried or laughed while crying every other page. SO GOOD.

Re-read 10/18 : This is my favorite series ever. Every single word of this book from cover to cover is perfection and I’m never been so satisfied with a series’ final book. I love these characters with my ENTIRE BEING. I really really loved listening to the audiobooks for this too and I’m so glad I picked this series as the first to re-read on audio! It showed the entire series through a new lens and I love it even more. I’m so excited for Threads of Power, you don’t even know. I’d die for Victoria Schwab.

This series is truly such a delight. Amy has become an author I’ll continuously look out for! Funny, steamy, gut-punchy swoonfests all around. I need 20 more

Super mixed feelings about this one but enjoyed a good chunk of it so 3.5.
