OK so just to get it off my chest- who on EARTH would change the subject line of an email conversation so many times- let alone ONCE?! Insanity.
ANYWAY, this book was super cute. It was cringey and embarrassing at times but mostly it was just me giggling and smiling like an idiot because everything was just cute and cheesy. I liked all of the characters, especially Theo & Scarlett, and Jessie was a fun narrator. I disliked that the mean girls name was Gem cause that’s my cat’s name and it is a great name but that’s just my biased opinion, hah.
Overall, it was a quick fun read and it’s been on my tbr list FOREVER so I’m glad I can finally check it off the list.

UMMMMM. OK WHAT.
SOOOO I stumbled across this totally by chance because I was looking for an audiobook and this one happened to be on the home page and sounded interesting. I thought, why not? BIG MISTAKE.
I only say this because I was halfway through when I realized it literally came out A WEEK AGO, therefore there is NO material online for me to dive in and creep on so I can WORK THROUGH MY FEELINGS. I NEED ANSWERS AND THEORIES AND FAN ART, PEOPLE.
THIS BOOK IS SO GOOD. I love the characters and the friendship between Zelie and Amari AND it has my FAVE enemies to lovers trope that-uhhhhh. Well, let's just say I was on my way to having another OTP but now I am SO confused and conflicted and I'm not sure if that's happening anymore... AH. I'm gonna have to wait forever for the next book now and with THAT ending...yikes, it's gonna be a long wait.
Sidenote- I have discovered that audiobooks are not really my forte though. In the beginning when I wasn't so invested I found myself falling into a daze until I finally had to stop and go back three chapters because I had no idea what was going on. THEN, once I did get interested, it was agony for me to not be able to read at my own speed. I think I'll save the audiobooks for when I take a long road trip or something where I can actually focus on it without distractions.

It’s an absolute miracle that I’ve actually read all the books in this series since every one of them MAKES ME CRAZY. As I’ve probably said in every review I’ve left for these books, I stick through them literally ONLY for Lisbeth and it seemed like she was a background character in this one.
Honestly, ALL I WANT is for Lisbeth & Mikael to spend more than two pages together. Literally. That’s all I want. This book had a face-to-face interaction in a record THIRTY pages, destroying the previous record of like, three frickin hundred but then after that ONE page of dialogue, it seemed like the author just completely grazes over any of the other handful of times they’re together. It makes me lose my mind.
The ending was really short and didn’t really tie up anything for me in terms of Lisbeth, so I have no idea where the sixth book will pick up. I’ll probably read it, or at least read a summary to see what Lisbeth is up to, but honestly I have held on to hope that this series will turn around in my favor for too long.

EEEP! This was SO enjoyable. Rick Riordan never disappoints me and every one of his books is like a warm hug. He is my hero.
I wasn't expecting this to be the last in the series, but it seems to look that way (fingers crossed otherwise, since the ending was a biiiiiiiit open-ended), but if so, I am satisfied with the ending. Hopefully it's at least not the last time we see these characters in the Riordan-world!
***Bit of a spoiler here*** but OH MY GOD am I obsessed with Magnus and Alex!!! At the beginning when little tidbits of romance would happen I was like, WAIT is this really gonna happen?! And then it totally did and I grinned like a frickin' idiot whenever they interacted cause it was SO CUTE and I'm so so so happy about it. They're adorable little dweebs.
Now I wait for the next Trials of Apollo! Woop!

Oh man. This book was really interesting and the world is really unique. It was easy to guess what the main twist would be, but once it started to delve into Madrigal’s backstory is started to lag and confused me a bit. It maybe could’ve been cut down so I wouldn’t feel like I was starting a completely different story.
The characters are really original and fun to picture in my head. I really liked Brimstone and Kishmish!
The ending made my heart hurt. I’m curious about what happens next though, so I’m gonna try out the next book.
Side note: I have discovered that the only Kaz I can associate the name ‘Kaz’ with is Kaz Brekker so I was totally having trouble with this Kaz in the first few chapters because I couldn’t get Brekker out of my head. So I guess Leigh Bardugo has the monopoly on characters named Kaz for me. Not complaining tho.

Overall I was a bit disappointed with this book but the ending was great (but sad)!

3.5 Stars! This book was hard to put down and got me out of my mini mini reading slump. There were times when I was iffy about the main couple but I think I liked them overall. I’m not really crazy about any one character but I will definitely pick up the next book in the series!
