Loved the first and last sections, less so the middle two. There were times I adored her style - the line breaks and literality - and others (usually the prose sections) that I didn't. Definitely want to reread and highlight and then I already bought her newest book!

Lots of bits of this book I did not like - especially when he talked about depression in such simple terms. There is no 'easy fix' for depression, but I do appreciate what Miracle Morning has done for my general mental health.

Not my favorite of hers, but still exceptionally creepy.

This book was so important - I was at first VERY concerned wondering if Jodi Picoult truly has the 'right' to write this book. But reading interviews of her and reading blogs of black book reviewers it seemed the consensus was that she did a good thing in writing it. She reached a large, white audience which is I think the most important thing.
The story was good, the evil characters were evil, and it showed racism in its many forms, both extreme and discreet. It's not the best book about race I've ever read (see The Hate U Give) but it created an opportunity for my 100% white lady book club to talk about race.

This book was fantastically written. Much like Ove, I loved that the start of this book felt like a cliche, but turned into such a rich tapestry of life. My heart hurt so much for Vivian.

My one qualm with the story is Vivian giving up her child - I don't know that I buy her doing that after the life she lived. It just didn't stick with me as a plausible twist. Then the ending was just wrapped up neatly with a bow which felt odd as well. In any case, I still loved 80% of the book.

Favorite so far I think. Truly just living in the world - lots of stress and turmoil as with any outlander book but I loved getting to just be in their lives!

Fantastic quandary. Slow in the middle, but flying through the end.
