Reread my favorite childhood book at 32 years old and it was so nostalgic. Surprisingly though, my rating went from 5 to 4.5. I think I always imagined this book was Young Adult, but it felt more middle grade. I didn't feel like I got to know any of the characters well enough. There were a few things that didn't age well, and some bits felt too rushed. Definitely a 90's book that I think would be written differently today. I absolutely vote for an updated Ella Enchanted!!
