I needed something easy and light after my last book and WOW did this adorable graphic novel do the trick. The illustrations, flow, and dialogue make you feel so connected to these characters and I am in love with Charlie and Nick‰ЫЄs story. Read in less than an hour and definitely want to own this one.
I am so happy with how delicately this graphic novel addresses the complexities of young adult relationships in high school, regardless of them being gay. Reading their love story gives me butterflies. ‰ќ_•ьЏ‰ќ_•ьЏ‰ќ_•ьЏ
While I loved how this book handled the complexities of coming out and how it doesn‰ЫЄt just happen once, it was my least favorite of the series so far. I wanted more of the relationship fluff, and less of the rest of the world.
Improved writing style, story building, and world-building from book 1, but still a little slow moving for my taste. Alina is ever so slightly underdeveloped as a character, to where I‰ЫЄm sometimes confused by her reasoning and motivations. Plugging on because I want to read this series plus the next one before watching the Netflix show.
Was just grinning and bearing it trying to finish off the series then BAM. The last 3 chapters very nearly took this book to 5 stars. I got goosebumps. FANTASTIC ending to the trilogy. If I went back and read a few chapters of book 1 I wouldn‰ЫЄt even tell you they are by the same author. Bardugo is SO much better in this book with her dialogue, pacing, and storytelling. If the future series get better, then I‰ЫЄm excited.
