Alok has an incredible way with words and expressing their grief over a variety of things– from the pandemic, to losing their grandfather, to the way the government treats trans folks. 

The world building in this book is fantastic and interesting. I loved Trina as well as her character development. This book made me think a lot about the mourning process and life and death as a whole.

I feel as if a lot of what they said in the book was very basic, but sometimes it's good to have reminders about basic things (i.e. self care). It was also a bit annoying how often they said "darling", but overall a book that I wish I had as a teenager.
