Fforde is delightful as always.

Took me no time at all to read. Makes you consider how you spend your time. What's the quality?

Disappointing. James tried to capture Austen's style, but missed the mark. The text was repetitive, Lydia woefully underused, and all the ambiguity of the source material was "explained" unsatisfactorily.

As always, a delightful read. Makes your head hurt just enough to be enjoyable.

I'm not sure what I expected this book to be. I think I wanted more about the books, but I also appreciate that Beha was internalizing the reading, framing it with the life he was leading at that time. This is, after all, what books are supposed to do, yes--they help us understand what is going on around us, even if the subject of the book is completely foreign to our lives.

It was...okay. The end was kind of abrupt and anti-climatic.
