⭐⭐⭐⭐ Savvy Stars

I really enjoyed this one, it was fun filled with lots of smexy goodness, my idea of a great book 😇

Aiden and Savvy were just lovely together and I'm glad she finally got a man to treat her right.

The story is one of Love, Loss, and some mind boggling mathematics!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Alaska Stars

This book bought out ALL of the feels from me, I have read a few by this author, so I knew i liked her writing style, and this one blew me away!

Told through the eyes of our protagonist Lemi, we see her growing up in a household with her and her parents.

Her father was an ex POW from Vietnam, and has PTSD although in those days (1974) this had not been recognised or diagnosed yet.

Her mother was kind, sweet and always looking to make her husband happy...ALWAYS!

The rule in the house was basically, if your father is happy, then we'll all be happy, and unfortunately, this means jumping from place to place, running from bills and creditors, and starting new schools.

Lemi doesn't really see the bad side of the marriage, her parents manage to keep that part quiet, but she does hear the fighting, and the breaking of things, and her mother telling her that she is just clumsy and walked into a door!

The dark days really seem to set her father off, his moods change, and so does his temper.

One day when he comes home to tell them that one of his old Vietnam buddies has left him some land in Alaska and they can go and live off of the land and finally be happy, Lemi doesn't really want to leave another school, but what makes Dad happy.......

He says that this will be the making of them, that they can be really happy there, and she believes him.

After moving there with practically nothing with them, the "cabin" (read that as shack) proves, at the beginning to be just what the family needed, and they are all so happy.
The locals are wonderful and all help them out, and Lemi finally finds somewhere where she belongs.

Until Alaska decides otherwise!

You see, for 6 months of the year, Alaska is in perpetual darkness, constant night time, Dads drinking gets the better of him, and his jealousy towards one of the locals is a recipe for disaster!

There was so much more in the book I could gush about, I could practically close my eyes and see everything the author wrote, it was such a wonderful story.

🎧🎧 Narrated by the always amazing Julia Whelan, who brought every character to life, her narration was just perfect, and i can't think of a better person to narrate this wonderful book.

Definitely save a credit for this one guys, it's a Feeler 😥😭

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Suspenseful Stars

I was excited to read this book as the authors other 2 books have been fantastic, and this one was no different.

Be prepared for a few twists to make you go "Wait...What?"

The story revolves around Anna and the death of her parents, she is grief stricken, not only because of the fact that she has lost her parents, but because of the way they died.

Two years ago, her father sent her mother a text saying "I can't do this anymore" a few hours later his shoes, wallet and phone were found at the top of Beachy Head, and a witness called the police to say that he had jumped off of the cliff, 6 months later, her heartbroken mother did the same!

Now for you guys not living in the UK, you may not know what Beachy Head is, so here is a picture.



Now although beautiful and a popular tourist attraction, Beachy Head is unfortunately more famous for being a popular suicide spot, you may have seen it featured in the 70's movie Quadrophenia, that iconic last scene was Beachy Head!

Anna is now a new mother and her baby takes up most of her time, she and her partner Mark live together in Anna's parents house, and apart from the obvious depression that Anna is suffering from, she is mostly coping quite well with life......Until the note!

"Suicide...think Again!"

A fabulous read that is bound to keep you on your toes, and the edge of your seat.

🎧🎧 - Narrated by Gemma Whelan, who is a new to me narrator, she did a great job with this story, and I was really impressed with her.

If you like twists and turns in a story, and you have a spare credit, you won't go wrong with this one!!

#TriggerWarnings - Abortion / Racism / Rape


The story starts out at 5pm at a Clinic in Jackson Mississippi, a gunman has opened fire inside the Abortion Clinic locally known as “The Center” the story then takes us backwards to the start of the day, and we find out why the characters are there.

Hugh McElroy is a hostage negotiator, at 5pm he gets called to the scene and immediately gets all of the details he can, and starts to communicate with the gunman, at the same time his phone starts to vibrate, when he looks at the text he has just received, he is horrified to find out that his daughter Wren and his sister Bex are inside the clinic!

The Center is somewhere women can go to get Contraception, Gynaecological examinations, General Women’s Health check-ups, and Abortions.

There are always Anti-Abortion protesters outside of The Center, trying to grab the women before they make it into the front door, they are handing out “gift bags” and trying to guilt them into changing their minds.

The Gunman is called George, and he is angry because he has found out that his daughter had an abortion at this clinic recently, not only does he shoot the doctor that performs the abortions, he shoots others as well, and Hugh’s daughter Wren might be one of them!

Tangled in this story is another, this story is about Beth, she took the difficult decision to terminate her own pregnancy, and now because of the Mississippi Abortion Law, she is facing murder charges, and could go to prison for 20 years if she is found guilty.

This story doesn’t try and sway you either way in your beliefs, and it doesn’t feel preachy at all, but I do like the way that Picoult tries to make you see both sides of the Pro-Life / Pro-Choice argument.

Regardless of your beliefs I think this is a great book to have for a Book club and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

🎧🎧 – Narrated by the amazing Bahni Turpin.

This was my main reason for picking up this book, she could literally narrate a recipe for a fruit cake and I would be there One Clicking like a lunatic! The woman can do no wrong in my eyes and makes any book into a fantastic read.

This is certainly one to pop into your basket.

And what a story it is!

Zander the big ol pussycat in tigers clothing does the usual thing and falls in love, this time with Aloha, the super famous Ex Disney now singer.

Their story was so cute I was just gushing with Awww's all the way through, but throw in a few more Morgans to make this a perfect mixture.

Peenie AKA Keane Morgan and Zander Shaw's friendship, and all of the Morgan family clan, is #LifeGoals, and I want to be in on some of that action!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nightingale Stars

Ok, Ok I admit it, I'm late to the party to this one, I tried twice before and couldn't get into it at all, but this time I was determined to stick with it, and I'm so glad I did, why did I doubt myself, of course this book was phenomenal!!

The Nightingale tells a story about World War II, and contrary to what I thought I was going to read about, this wasn't about the fighting at all....well not in the way that you think, this is about the women who were left behind.

France 1939, Vianne says goodbye to her husband as he goes to the front to fight for the country, she doesn't think for a minute that the Nazi's will come to her town, let alone invade France, so she isn't too worried about it.

However the realisation that this is exactly what is happening comes too quickly, and Vianne is eventually living in her house with a stranger, not just a stranger, but a Nazi officer!
She must teach her daughter to keep her head down, and her mouth shut, and take huge risks to protect and save lives of people that could get her not just into trouble, it could cost her life!

Isabelle is Vianne's younger sister, she is always getting herself into trouble, and has always been a bit of a rebel.
She is opposite to her sister, in that she is totally ready for the Nazi's, in fact she would be quite happy to head off to Paris to join the fight, and that is exactly what she does.

Against her sisters advice that she couldn't do anything to help, Isabelle is determined that she can do something, so she packs a bag and sets off to Paris.

“Oh, for heaven’s sake, Isabelle. Paris is overrun. The Nazis control the city. What is an eighteen-year-old girl to do about all of that?”

But a difference she does make, to many lives, after joining the French Resistance with her new friend Gäetan, she was known to many as "The Nightingale" and risked her life helping others.

From now on, she was Juliette Gervaise, code name the Nightingale.

A fantastic read that I would recommend to anyone.

🎧🎧 - Narrated expertly by Polly Stone who did a wonderful job, her voice was just perfect for this book and I will definitely be looking out for other books that she has narrated.
