Set in the UK in Edinburgh, Detective Inspector Luc Callanach who was a former Interpol Officer, has joined the Crime team in Scotland, he brings with him a wealth of knowledge, and also a bag full of rumours that still follow him, and his methods around.

Ava is his work colleague, and they actually make a great pair, they seems to balance themselves out, while Ava is fun loving and knowledge based, Callanach comes across as a grumpy old man with a stick up his ass!

We also get the POV of the murderer, and we are privy to the information in his mind, we can what he is doing, to whom, and who will be next, and let me tell you, It. Is. Dark!!

The gruesome parts are very descriptive, I for one loved them, but be prepared to wince a lot while reading them.

This was a very clever thriller to keep you on the edge of your seat and keep you turning the pages (or in my case listening to the audiobook) I stayed up way too late trying to piece things together and work out what was going on.

This was just the right side of weird for me, I really enjoyed it RTC

Well Ms Blakely never ceases to amaze me with how quickly she manages to get her stories out, does this woman never sleep?

The great thing about this is that there is always room for another LB story, the really great news is that they ar ealways fab, jam packed with brilliant content, and always a fantastic audio experience.

Thea and Gavin Scott are happily married, or so Gavin thought, but one night after a romantic evening together, Thea admits that she has been faking her O’s (if you know what I mean?) a big argument ensues and Gavin walks out.

After calming himself down and coming to his senses, Gavin goes back home, but Thea has decided enough is enough and she wants a divorce as she hasn’t been happy now for a while.

Gavin is rightly devastated and moves his things out and promptly goes to ‘find himself’ at the bottom of a bottle.

But Gavin’s friends are not having any of it, and decide to allow him into their inner sanctum i.e. the Bromance Book Club.

The premise of the club is quite simple, they get a romance book (Historical fiction to be precise) and learn how to be a better man, and Gavin jumps into this with hilarious results.

There was so many lines in this that made me laugh out loud, especially with the 3rd narrator in the book being actually *from* the book i.e. The Duke in Gavin’s head giving him tips.

Gavin getting a “Book Boner” was the funniest thing I’ve ever heard Hahaha

If you can grab this one I would definitely recommend the audiobook, it was so much fun to listen to

Narration was by Andrew Eiden and Maxwell Caulfield and they did such a brilliant job, I laughed out loud so many times.

Grab it if you can

Just one of these could be true, or maybe they’re not, maybe none of them are at all, maybe Joanne isn’t really Joanne!

It is difficult to go into too much detail with this book because otherwise it will spoil the story, lets just say that everything is not quite as it seems.

I really enjoyed this story and how it unravelled, “Joanne” is a very troubled woman and it really showed in the story the further it went on, it also had the C J Skuse touch with the hilarious one liners and witty banter.
The story is in 2 parts and very cleverly reveals the plot and why Joanne is how she is, and what made her that way.

Definitely something you should pick up if you can.
