I was given this audio book for free in exchange for an honest review
This is a book that WILL make you uncomfortable, very uncomfortable, from the first few pages, please be warned!!!
Dr Galbraith is one of the most horrid characters that I have come across, he is a narcissistic, paedophile who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.......

Set in 1992 in Wales, this book is a little too close to home for comfort for me (I live in South Wales) so I was always trying to listen and find out recognisable places.
Written by a former police officer and social worker John Nicholl gives a chilling tale about a young boy called Anthony who is 7 years old.
With the breakup of his parents' marriage, Anthony is referred to a child psychiatrist Dr David Galbraith.
Galbraith on the surface is a lovely man who does his upmost to help out children in need, unfortunately this is just an illusion, Galbraith is a sadistic paedophile who has already killed!
He becomes obsessed with Anthony and plans his kidnapping down to the last little details.
This book contains a LOT of references to child sexual abuse so please be warned, it is not a fluffy read, and because this is a book based on actual events that the author has come across in his years as a social worker, it makes the story even more chilling!
The narration of the book was actually really well done, I can’t tell you the number of books that I have listened to that have a Welsh accent, and everyone seems to think we all sound like Ruth Maddoc!!!
This had a proper Welsh accent that wasn’t over the top.
The ending was quite rushed and seemed to finish before anything really ‘got going’ I’m not sure what I wanted but maybe his wife could have done something else………maybe that’s just me though.
All in all a really good read and I will definitely be reading the next in the series to find out what happened.

This was ok, I didn't see the end coming but it wasn't enough to bump my star rating up.
