Well this kindle freebie was a nice surprise.

Piper Willow decides to end it all after a couple of really bad things happen to her (one of which is not her fault)

She kills herself and wakes up at "The Station" which is sort of like a stop off before the afterlife.

She then has to decide whether she wants to pass on or to stay and become a "volunteer" which means she will become that nagging voice in your head that tries to talk you out of stupid situations.

She decides to do this, and promptly gets put inside a mans head that is looking to kill himself!

Review

Re starring ma shelves.
lost 1*
Why?
I didn't like the book. ........ There I said it !

This is a review of the audio version of the bone season.

I was really looking forward to reading this book however I found it really really difficult.

The language they use takes so long to understand, no words that are used make sense.
I gave it some time, and after a while it did start to scramble together in my tiny brain, and got quite enjoyable, however I don't think I'll be reading the second book.

Paige the protagonist in the book is quite kick ass, she looks after herself and doesn't need anybodys help at all.
She is a dream walker, and can in effect , jump into somebody else's dreamscape if obviously they are clairvoyant (voyant) too.

This is where the book starts to get really difficult understand, you have a lot of information thrown at you about what sort of clairvoyants that there are ,what they do , how they got it, where they go etc. etc.

By the end of the first 5 chapters I was ready to close the book forever and not continue with it, however this was a buddy read so I kept with it. (Stacey I shall hold you accountable haha!)

The characters are really hard to explain and I didn't have a picture in my head of what any of them looked like.

Warden is suppost to be this really horrible person but you never see it.

Nashira is a total b**** and I hated her character.

Now I'm not thick by any means, but I am no Stephen Hawking either, if you know what I mean, but to have to look at a glossary every time you need to know what the word means is not enjoyable for me, unless you are in college writing a dissertation.

I really really, really wanted to like this book, and after all the hype I caved in, however Harry Potter it is not! J K Rowling she is not! and unfortunately it left me not wanting more but thinking "thank god that's over my brain needs a rest."

The romance in book seems just thrown in, it's like she got half way through it, or even 80 percent through it and thought " ooh sh** I'd better get the kiss in"
I mean you knew it was coming, it was obvious that it was coming but there was no build up to it.
There was no smouldering eye glances etc. Just, "ooh I really like you, give us a snog" , "oohh we've been caught", "shove me on the train love", the end.

So the long and short of it is, try it, you might like it but I think it's going to be one of those marmite books you either love it or don't like it at all, I'm afraid I'm in the latter group.

Oh oh oh I haven't spoken about the narration. Now this could be why I wanted to stab my ears with a rusty nail, she is boring with a capital B.

I'm all for all audio books, I love them, in fact I choose audio over a normal book, simply because I have a busy life, I work long hours and don't have time unfortunately to sit and read an actual book.

I have listened to many many books some have even made me cry, (TFIOS I cried like a baby) this one, this long loonnng book made me want to sleep!
The narrator was just SO boring, she didn't have any feeling at all while she was reading, she might as well have been reading out loud a manual for a car engine or how to set up the vcr.

I haven't spoken to my buddy reader Stacey yet I will be waiting with bated breath see what she thought.

This is the love story of Olivia and Caleb, well it's more of a horror story really, a big roller coaster of a story, it has more ups and downs than your usual tale.

Prepare for Ms Fisher to royally screw up your mind !!

I have no idea how to rate this one, or even if I enjoyed it or not!
How strange!!
Be back after I've thought about it a while

Just like the previous book , so bad it's good !!!
