WOAH! !!!!!!!!! 6 Stars ♡

Hang on there a minute.......

This book was sooo good I can't explain.

This has loads of good stuff in it including spacemen and a talking dog!! I know right, sounds like a complete disaster but it works

Todd is a young boy, he will be a man soon, he is twelve years and twelve months old, and will be 13 and a man in one months time.

Todd and every other man in Prentistown is plagued by 'the noise' where everyone can hear your thoughts, EVERY thought!

There are no women as they all died when they caught the virus when they landed on the new world.
The virus was spread by the Spackle, the alien race that lived there before and who they killed in the war, there is none left.

Todd has a dog called Manchee who is hands down the best character ever, as he is a talking dog!!
When the men caught the noise virus, all of the animals also started to talk, I mean really talk not just woof woof.
It reminded me of Doug from Disneys UP, (I even googled it to see if the book was written after, and guess what....it was BEFORE!)

The 1st paragraph is the funniest ever....

The first thing you find out when yer dog learns to talk is that dogs don’t got nothing much to say. About anything.
“Need a poo, Todd.”
“Shut up, Manchee.”
“Poo. Poo, Todd.”
“I said shut it.”

Classic!

Todd finds a secret that he wasn't supposed to and had to run away from the town, he now has to leave where he grew up and everything he knows and find his way, however he doesn't know where he is going or what he is running from.
All he has is a map and a book from his mother....trouble is, he can't read.

The audio was brilliant, very funny when the dog was talking and all of the characters were well narrated, it even had a little singing in it.

A fab read with a huge cliffhanger at the end, I shall definitely be reading the rest of the series and will be visiting audible immediately after writing this review.

Actual rating 3.5 stars.

Sooo after the mahoosive cliff hanger that was from [book:Reason to Breathe] I was eager to plug in and listen to book 2.

Now Emma has escaped from her aunts clutches she is living with her best friend Sara although she still has the scars and the smashed ankle to remind her of that last awful night.

Emma decides that now would be a good time to get to know her mother and promptly decides to move in with her.......WRONG DECISION!

Although in the previous book her mother seemed to have put the drinking behind her, unfortunately it has escalated into her being a full blown alcoholic, partying till all hours and bringing back a different man every night, one of these men is Jonathan.

Emma and Evan are still on the love train but haven't taken the step off of the platform yet, if you know what I mean!

Emma for some unknown reason keeps her mother's drinking a secret from Sara and Evan but confides in Jonathan and they strike up a secret friendship, meeting and calling each other in the middle of the night to discuss their nightmares.

I started to get really annoyed with Emma by the end of the book though as she seemed to want to fix everyone without sorting out her own shit first!

She tramples all over Evans heart as she doesn't trust him enough to share her secrets about her past and tells them all to a random bloke that her mother's been shagging!

I will be reading book 3 but I'm not in such a rush to do so.

Okay you will not actually believe how excited i was when i heard that this book was going to be published.

I mean this is Stephen King guys STEPHEN KING!!!!

My first ever real book that i read and reread over and over was Firestarter, i even loved the film when it came out, even though King himself hated it haha.

After that King became a little bit of an obsession of mine and I eagerly devoured everything I could by him.

Anyway I digress, Doctor Sleep is a sequel to The Shining although it is a very light sequel which very slowly pushes you back to the Outlook..

So did you ever wonder what happened to that little boy, you know the one in spooky hotel that used to ride around the floors on his tricycle?

Yeah, me neither but apparently Mr King did so he wrote another book.

Danny Torrence is still haunted by some of things that he saw at the Outlook hotel.

We meet him at the beginning of the book still quite young, remember the woman in the bathroom? she's still here but now she's all mouldy and disgusting and she still visits him regularly.

We can move later on in Danny's life and slowly see him turning into his father, something that he is determined not to do.
After hitting rock bottom we meet Danny again at his AA meetings however in the meantime we have met somebody else much more exciting Abra.

She also has 'The Shining' but much stronger and she has been picked up on the radar by a very nasty group called the True Knot.
I will never look at a top hat the same again,.... shudder.......

As per every other Stephen King book, it took a good 100 pages or so to really get going, and after it did it was a great ride.
Rose 'The Hat' was creepy enough to be a good main character and Abra was brilliant.

Iwas however slightly disappointed as it didn't really kick ass enough to get me cheering.

Great read however, very long, 18 hours is a long time to just fill in and that is what it felt like sometimes.

So I was very excited when this little book got into my sweaty palms!

Loved the 1st and 2nd books and was anxious to see what happened to Kira and Sam and if they could help fix the world.

Hmm..... where shall I start......I'm gutted !

It wasn't terrible but it wasn't brilliant either it was just so so, everything seemed like it was crammed into the book and there was a LOT to cram in.

The book jumped back and forth to each character and it didn't make sense a lot of the time, I found myself rewinding to find out where I was.

There were a few new characters who I loved Green for one was lovely, and the blood man was just plain weird, and some strange shit was going on as well, I did actually say ewww at one point.......(much to the delight of my BR partner who was waiting for me to get to that part lol)

And what the hell was that monster thing?!? I mean I know who it is but WTF !!!!!

Kira was as heroic as usual and my hero Heron was as cool as a cucumber as per usual (my fave character of the trilogy by far)

The Kira-Marcus-Sam thing seemed to be stretched as far as it could go and by the end I didn’t really care who she ended up with.

All in all ...... it was ok.

NB. I don't really have sweaty palms. .........just in case you were wondering!!

So this definitely needs to be read after [b:Obsidian|12578077|Obsidian (Lux, #1)|Jennifer L. Armentrout|http://images.gr-assets.com/books/1328275091s/12578077.jpg|17588854] to make any sense otherwise all of the phrases and words will have you scratching your head.

This is the story about Dawson and Bethany and their struggles.
It also explains a lot about why Daemon is a bit of a douchebag to Katie in Obsidian.

I enjoyed reading the sub story and why the characters are the way they are.

No spoilers here but if you have read [b:Obsidian|12578077|Obsidian (Lux, #1)|Jennifer L. Armentrout|http://images.gr-assets.com/books/1328275091s/12578077.jpg|17588854] then you will already know about this little heart breaker of a book.

Dawson is as Swoontastic as his brother and the narration is great, another highly recommend read from Jennifer Armentrout.

Hold your ears a moment please ARGHHHHH, SQUEEEELLLLLL, WHAAAAATTTT, GUSSSHHHHH!

Sorry about that.....where was I?

Well excuse me while I just finish my tub of ice cream .......and cookies......and chips....and chocolate!

**Wipes chin

This series is turning into one of my favourites, I have read 1 other Jennifer Armentrout before this series and loved it, I must seek out more!

DAEMON IS BACK ....Swoontastic ***fans herself down***

So Katy is a half-blood half-breed mutant ninja alien kickass diva, and I LOVE IT.

The D.O.D are back with a vengeance and are trying to hunt the Luxen down.

Oh yeah and Dawson is BACK ..SQUEEEELLLLLL. ..sorry!

A few more dodgy characters are introduced and really get the story going.

Katy and Daemons sexual tension is still fan worthy and Damon is still swoonsome. ...hang on have I already said that??

I laughed out loud at loads of things in this book and I still love the fact that Katy is still a book nerd, she lives to read and review, and even has book boyfriends, I ♡ her.

With the sun setting outside, I wrote a quick review for Monday and then a longer one for Tuesday. The longer one was because I couldn’t stop gushing. I think I had a new book boyfriend and his name was Tod. Yumtastic!
Haha!

There are stories within stories in this thriller of a ride, this is not a 'must get out a crappy 2nd book so that I complete a trilogy' type of book, it's a cracker of a read.

Jump on the Daemon Black train with me and enjoy the ride............but get behind the rest of the queue beeatch!

"Yes I am in love with Daemon Black....but"

""Haha! Yes he is swoonsome and Yumtastic..**.cough cough ANYWAY"

"I'm calling to complain about the fact that I was quite happily listening to it, it got to a brilliant bit about Katy and Daemon breaking in to the D.O.D and the climax about when he was going to rescue her, and they were going to run away into the sunset and live happily ever after, and then it stopped!"

"Yes I know I'm babbling"

""I'm sorry, Yes I've stopped crying now"

"Anyway I want my money back as I've obviously downloaded a dodgy copy. ....sniff"

SILENCE

"What?"

"What?"

"WHAT???????"

"What do you mean, a cliffhanger? ??"

"Really, a cliffhanger??"

"But.....but...but it can't end like that!"

"I know, but...."

"Yes I understand"

"Yes I am sorry for using your personal cell number"

"Yes I'm ok now, thanks Sylvia"

"No honestly, I don't need to go to the hospital, I just need icecream, lots of icecream"

"I'm sorry what??"

"There's another book.......... Origin???"

"No I'm ok, I just fell off the bed!"

"Anyway I've got to go......I've got aliens to catch up with"

"Yes I will speak to a doctor! Thanks Sylvia, Goodbye"
