Context: The protagonist has someone call the police on her for leaving her backpack in a lecture (as a bomb threat). Later, she is filmed having her hijab ripped off from someone completely a hazing dare. She experiences overt racism and Islamophobia at university. She ends up in the hospital as the man physically assaulted her when she tried to get her hijab back. Her father abandoned her and her mother as a child and later disowned her for wearing a hijab. Tara's best friend is disowned by her parents for coming out as a lesbian. She is outed when a photograph of her kissing her girlfriend goes viral.

Multiple characters are kidnapped and confined to an elevator for their entire timeline. They physically assaulted one another, resulting in bloody injuries.
