i hate that those last fifty pages made me go from 'this is the most represented i've ever felt' to 'what the hell did i just read make it stop'

Reread #1:
I could not return this to the library without giving it another read! This series is just brilliant. Everything from the writing to the art to the characterisation and plotline is done to perfection. The more I read about them, the more and more I fall in love with these characters, especially Marko, and Upsher and Doff. This volume was probably one of my favourite of the series so far. I loved seeing how much Hazel, Alana, and Marko have matured since the last volume and the introduction of new characters - particularly Petriocher and Squire - was welcomed.
I cannot wait for the next volume's release - mainly for more Upsher and Doff.
Original Read: This serious always amazes me. The artwork, the characters, the story, the themes... it's brilliant.

Original Read: I'm a little disappointed at the moment if I'm being honest. This is definitely one of my favourite graphic novels series but this addition to the series was a little flat. The majority of the story felt like some sort of lead-up to the next instalment, and what the hell happened to Marko? He's still my favourite character but he kind of snapped in this book, and I don't know how to feel about it yet.
Gah! This was easily my favourite volume of the series so far. There were just so many little things I loved: Marko's beard, the reporters' little storyline (we barely know them, but I ship them. Hard), Cartwright, The Will & Sophie. It just all tied together nicely. The art was fantastic. The cliff-hanger was a little heart-breaking, but this was just really, really good.
