A must-read for horror fans. The perfect mix of The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding, The Devouring Gray and Small Spaces.

A disastrous, rambling mess.... but somehow incredibly thought-provoking.
It's been two years since my last reread and unfortunately, I didn't love this as much as before. The constant gratuitous violence and treatment of the queer characters was simply off-putting. I still have a massive soft spot in my heart for this series but I'll be regarding it a little more critically in the future.

Fresh new YA fantasy... I just personally loved the secondary characters more than the protagonist.

Not the most satisfying sequel tbh, but I can't deny I kind of love Brishen & Ildiko 🤷
