I loved this book. The aesthetic and characters drew me in, and I stayed for the plot. My one and only possible complaint is that this is not necessarily a good stand-alone book. By the time you get to the end, you can tell that it was made to be in a series. Other than that, this is an amazing book, that I highly recommend!

When you say a book is a 'page-turner', this book is the book that instantly comes to mind. I read it in two days because I simply. Could. Not. Stop. Reading. It amazed me, it entertained me, it did everything a book is supposed to do and more. I really loved the visual style of the pages, the characters are endearing and distinct, the tone changes when necessary and really makes the dialogue stand out in each scene.
The worldbuilding is also amazing. The authors really drew me into the world and made Illuminae's universe feel three-dimensional without overwhelming us with pages and pages of backstory. The characters are also standout parts of the world- despite the format of the story making character/tone writing slightly difficult, the authors made each character stand out and stick with me.

I absolutely adore this book. I literally cannot even articulate my feelings for this book because I love it so much. I absolutely, one-thousand-percent recommend it to anyone and everyone. Please read this book. It's so good.

I really like this book. The reimagined stories were interesting takes, and I really enjoyed the fact that the editor kept a copy of Poe's original works in the book too. It's a nice read. I reccomend it, especially if you're a fan of Poe's original works.
A good summer read, but nothing spectacular. It was an entertaining mystery with a good conflict, but almost all of the characters felt flat and two-dimensional. I don't think if I'd recommend it to a friend, but I don't feel like it was a waste of time either.
