The Black Witch was a bit of a slow starter, but never dull by any means. It slowly sunk its claws into me and wouldn't relent until I finished every book I could get my hands on in The Black Witch Chronicles.

Elloren could be hard to like and listen to sometimes, but I found her journey through the world and discovering beliefs and opinions for her herself to be a long, rocky, but ultimately real feeling one that allowed her to grow over time.

I was truly impressed with the world building in this book. I easily found myself totally enchanted with this land full of magic and mystery.

I do think that this story requires some amount of patience to really get into, but I found that after while I couldn't put the book down and any story that makes me instantly purchase every other book in series is a pretty impressive one, imo.

Charley my dear, you have done your exquisite name proud. Charley was my favorite kind of heroine, brave, hilarious, tough as nails, smartass with a heart of gold. This character alone made this book awesome. And just when you thought it couldn't get anymore awesome, creeping in and out in the sexiest most mysterious fashion was, Reyes Alexander Farrow, aka tall, dark and yummy. I was practically as antsy as Charley was to find out the mystery that was Reyes. I have to say I was totally blown away by what she found! I didn't see that one coming, but it fits well, and I'm sure will make the following books even more interesting.

I loved all of Charley's occupations. She was one busy, intriguing, little trouble magnet. She definitely surrounded herself with other interesting folks as well. I'd venture to say that there was nary a dull day in the Davidson household. Seriously even her dreams are an adventure, and oh what a ride those are! I will say she did a stellar job at getting her ass spectacularly kicked at pretty much every turn, but she always took it all in stride and kept getting back up to be inappropriately awesome another day.

The ghosts added a real fun element to the story, particularly since Charley was the only one that could see and interact with them. The whole supernatural aspect of this book was actually quite unique. While ghosts and the people who see them are definitely not anything new, the other elements to their relationship were. Charley's grim reaper duties involved the spirits crossing through her to get to "the other side" wherever that may be. Her other jobs helped her aid them in wrapping up their unfinished business in this world before they crossed over, which was pretty sweet. I liked that there was a lot of things set up here for this whole world to really develop in the following books. I have a feeling we have only scratched the surface of the world of Charley Davidson, Grim Reaper, and I can't wait to see what is yet to come. I already purchased the next few books, and look forward to seeing where this series goes from here.

STARR FALL BY: KIM BRIGGS
Starr Fall was an exciting read! I liked the idea of this type of shadowy government unit recruiting the best and the brightest in this really suspect way, even against their will. I really want to know more about them and the kids that they are warping to their surely nefarious ends.  We got to see the lengths they are willing to go to for what they want, but it is still kind of a mystery as to what is really driving them to these lengths and why they are so desperate to get their hands on Starr Bishop.
 
 
I quite liked Starr, she was very bright and resourceful, and she has a kind heart. I loved the systematic, logical way she broke things down each time she was faced with these seemingly impossible situations. A lot of this book was Starr just trying to survive and stay off the radar, but I have a feeling that we will see a lot more of her striking back at this corrupt organization in future books, because there's no doubt that Starr is a fighter, she just needed a just cause.
 
 

 
 
I'm a little unsure of my feelings on Christian. On one hand he is definitely a noble kind of guy so far, it seems to be like he had a penchant for sticking up for the underdogs, or rather people in need. The relationship between him and Starr seemed a little rushed to me, and to be honest I would have preferred to have a little more of the mystery/suspense and a little less of the romance. But this was a faster paced story in general so I suppose that makes sense to have things advance more quickly. I just have this weird vibe from Christian though like he's somehow mixed up in this situation more so than just trying to help Starr. I have this feeling that he has a secret or two and they may impact things between Starr and him later.

This book was incredible! I really enjoyed every minute of it. There was a lot going on with this story, dysfunctional parents, death, crazy stalker ex boyfriends, and lets not forget about the insanely hot characters and the scorching hot chemistry smoldering off the pages. It was a wild ride, and I couldn't get enough.

Rule was all surly and full of angst, but also drop dead gorgeous and in desperate need of some lovin'. So naturally, I was totally into him lol. I really loved Shaw too. She was so caring and selfless, you really couldn't do anything else but love her, well unless you were a stubborn jackass like Rule through the fist half of the book ;) I loved the way they leveled eachother out, she made him open up more and be less of a douche, and he helped her come out of her shell and start standing up for helself and stop trying so hard to be what everyone else wanted her to be. I absolutely adored the fact that Shaw never wanted to tame the bad boy, she loved Rule for just who he was and never wanted him to change.

The other characters in this book were also so interesting, Nash, Rome, Jet, Ayden, and Cora. I wouldn't mind reading books about any of them....nope wouldn't mind that one little bit. I am so excited to see that the next book in this series is Jet's and Ayd's book, I think it's going to be amazing, and super hot! Rule was such a great read, I really can't wait to see what happens next with all these outstanding characters!

While I'm saddened to see this fantastical adventure come to an end, what a way to go! Crown of Thunder gives us the end of a magical journey, but also a hopeful beginning of sorts that is just as important.

One of the things I found most enchanting about this addition might not be what you would expect. Can we please take a minute to talk about the storyline between Evie and Jackie Faercourt? I never in a million years could have envisioned their inevitable culmination to play out the way it did. Absolutely brilliant! I'm at war with myself a little where this is concerned because the ultimate reconciliation was EPIC, but there's also a part of me that really would have LOVED even more Jackie. That's really a testament to just how well written a character he was and also how he surprisingly added more depth to Evie as well. I was not prepared for him to rise to these all new heights in this book. I thought I knew him. I thought I knew how things would go when their paths crossed again. I thought wrong. At one point I thought PLEASE LET THIS BE A SET UP FOR A SPINOFF ANTIHERO STORY. He ultimately became one of the most interesting characters to me, and although I do not see any antihero redemption stories in his future, the way that things played out was really quite perfect. Evie suddenly becomes all of us, confused by the warring emotions swirling around inside of her and unexpectedly battered by this sadness that was so unexpectedly powerful where Jackie is concerned.

I was so glad to see just how much Evie had grown as a person in this one. Her wild adventure to find her way back home took a young, sheltered, naive girl and helped shape her into a fierce, compassionate, prudent queen. She found herself out on the road, (air and sea too!) and she found her people and her purpose.

I also found that I enjoyed the few quiet moments, in between the chaos. The moments where she strolled with a friend and they reminisced on their childhoods and let themselves think of the homes they desperately missed in a way they haven't in so long. Or stolen moments with her heart's desire that even in a war they took the few moments to remind each other what else they were fighting for.

I just love this whole world, so full of magic and mayhem, so vibrant and full of the most colorful people. I would be enamored by any one of their tales, I'm sure of it! I'm sad to say goodbye to it, but a girl can always dream that maybe instead it is, until we meet again one day.
