I LOVED this!!!!!! Such huge growth from Kendra in this book! She has truly flourished. I was so shocked and pleased to see Kendra handling everything that she was, with so much grace, and responsibility. She is becoming the leader she was destined to be, and so much more. She is fighting for and navigating her new role in the draining political world. We have seen in the previous books what a fierce and dedicated warrior Kendra can be, Crest really highlighted the fact that she is much more than a deadly weapon. She has a strong political presence and she's making it known. I think it can be said for any form of politics, it's not for the faint of heart or weak of mind. Kendra proves to be neither. She will do whatever she can, and must for the sake of the Irisavies and all the elementals and even associates of the elemental world. She has some great ideas and plans to truly unify everyone and make things equal for all, but of course tradition and traditionalists stand in her way. It's been awesome seeing Kendra finally play their game, and do it so well.

Can we say a big hell yes for getting to see so much selkie awesomness in this book?! I mean it's all about location, location, location. Having this book take place in the Selkie Kingdom was amazing. The selkies have been such an intriguing race, shrouded in mystery. It was kind of like getting to peek behind the curtain at Oz, only the selkies were way better than some old dude pretending to be great and powerful. We got to learn so much about their way of life and culture, it was so cool! Especailly considering that this is the first supernatural/fantasy book that has ever featured this particular race.

We are also closer to the Shadow then ever before in this addition. Come on that ending was EXCRUTIATING!!!!! Two things I have learned in this series thus far, you never quite know who your enemies are, and Raveling doesn't blink an eye at injuring, maiming or completely offing people. Even characters you love! So beware forming attachments, because you truly never know who is the next to plunge the knife in your back or bite the bullet.

I also need to sat how much I love a slow building romance. I love the agonizingly slow and torturous journey to your OTP finally coming together. Raveling expertly weaves this journey in this series. I have to say that I have seen a lot of people talk about a love triangle in this series. I can't say I ever really thought that was the case here. I always felt things would play out a certain way, and I never felt like there was even a choice for Kendra. I thought her feelings were clear from the get go, even when she had trouble admitting them to herself. I admire the way she handled things with both leading men in this book. Gone is the girl that struggles so much with people and relationships. Kendra really stepped up and was honest and mature in dealing with everyone.

I can not wait for Breaker. I so look forward to seeing what happens next in this incredible series! This was the first book in awhile that gave me one hell of a hangover. I couldn't put this down, not when it was time to cook dinner, not when it was time for bed, and not even when I knew I had to work in just a few hours. That next day was a long one, but totally worth it!

Am I the only one that re-read the ending in this one a few times because I totally thought I was missing something. That was a sneaky thing to do Miss Raveling! You didn't quite give us the whole picture as to what dear Tristan was up to when visiting home, but it was certainly enough to have me chomping at the bit! It was also way cool to see some of the more pivotal scenes between Tristan and Kendra from Tristan's point of view this time around. Especially since so much of the time he has his emotions locked down like Fort Knox and it's as hard for the reader as it is for Kendra to guess as to what he's thinking or feeling.

Loved this little short story from Julian's point of view! It was really fun watching him and Kendra conduct their covert investigation, especially in a foreign city, with some new interesting people. It was also nice to get a peek into what Julian was thinking for a bit. I feel like we got to see a slight shift in his attitude towards Kendra, and her relationship with Tristan in this novella. The calm, cool exterior appears to be cracking.

I loved this brief glimpse into Kendra's life before the Lumiere Academy. I liked seeing this younger version of her! It was nice to see the way she has always stuck up for the underdogs. Even though she seems harsh or abrasive, she has always been a quiet hero. I enjoyed the story, and the sweet twist at the end.

I loved this book! Seriously Stephen King could just about anything, and I'm about 98% sure I would love it. Mr. Mercedes was a little different from King's usual horror novels, as this one was a mystery/suspense/crime thriller. Honestly thought besides being the King of horror, Stephen King's writing style, the way he's able to pull you in from the very beginning and have you invested in the outcome, and most importantly the characters! He writes some of the best characters. I love the unsung heroes he's always giving us. The quiet, almost ordinary, everyday Joe that steps up and fights for what is right. Also, whether it's a killer clown or just a regular ole' psychopath, his villains are always equally as chilling. Mr. Mercedes might have even been more so, in the sense that he could have been someone YOU know. He blended into society and appeared normal, when in truth he was a true monster, and you wouldn't know you were in his crosshairs until it was much too late.


I loved the blend of modern and old school. I thought this book brought the feel from those classic private detective type movies,and mingled that with modern world in all it's glory. I really enjoyed that! I felt like Mr. Mercedes really had some advantages with his vast knowledge of all things techie, and it was really cool to see the advantages Hodges had just from his experience dealing with crazy criminals throughout his life, and just how much a simple, natural intuition can come to aid you in these things as well! I really enjoyed this novel, and I actually just realized that it's supposed to be a trilogy about Bill Hodges!!!! Can't wait to see what happens next!

I can honestly say A Novel Obsession was full of surprises, in so many different ways. This book starts out pretty hot and heavy in the bedroom, which gives the feel that this is going to be one steamy read, but really that was just about the only sexually explicit part in the entire thing! Talk about starting off with a bang!


Really though that was just the beginning of things that were quite shocking going on here. The way this book started, and even through most of the middle was one seemingly centered around romance, but the end, that really took me for a spin. I was not expecting things to escalate as quickly, or anywhere close to the extent that they did. Don't get me wrong, I actually quite enjoyed the action element there, but I think some heavier foreshadowing could have helped make that transition a little more smooth.


As an avid bookworm myself, I was totally in love with a story about a fellow book lover falling for the author of her favorite books. I thought it was charming. What I did not find charming at all, was the extent of nearly everybody's obsessions in this book. Abby was not the only person with an unhealthy fixation. I was dumbfounded by Rick's revelation, I don't even see why that would have been in there, unless it's setting up for something much larger to happen with it in the second book. I can't even say much against Beau. It was hard to fault Beau of much when really you just couldn't help but to feel sorry for him. Even Daniel with his fixation on a stranger, it just seemed so extreme. To alter your life and desperately search for a stranger because they wrote you a nice note. I don't know though, maybe I'm just a jaded contemporary woman at heart. People my age, they don't have meet cutes anymore, and more to that, if some strange fellow approached me in a public setting and asked me out, there is a good chance I would be completely put off by that. My generation is a little strange, we are somewhere in between the good ole fashioned getting to know someone, and internet stalking an individual to ascertain information before we even give a guy a shot! So I'll chalk that up to me just being a weirdo, and some forms of romance are just completely foreign to me.


Abby though....she's truly in a league of her own. I could have been fine with her being a devoted, avid fan, but the way she talked about her book as if it were actually the author himself, of which she was in a some form of a relationship with....no. That kind of creeped me out. It distanced me from Abby, and quite frankly I was not a fan of her attitude either. It kept referring to how sweet she was, and clearly pretty much any male within range of her "amazingness" will completely fall for her, but I found her rather snotty. I had a hard time seeing the things other people said she was. She made many rude generalized comments about people, which I just thought highly contradicted this sweet persona.....

I think this a classic case of show don't tell. Show me how sweet and kind Abby can be, maybe keep the judgmental snarkiness to a minimum. Or have her still be wanted for being herself, there is nothing wrong with a good snarky lady, in fact I LOVE them, shit I am one! Just be weary of selling her as Mother Theresa when she reads more along of Regina George from Mean Girls.


I clearly had a few issues with this book, but as a whole, I think this was somewhere around a 3 star read for me. Beside what I have already said, I do think this author wrote a decent romance book, and honestly an even better one when all the action was involved. If that would have been more incorporated into the story from the beginning I think I would have enjoyed this more. It was pretty well written, and with some small improvements I think the second book could be really good. Really anything is possible. I would be willing to give it a shot and see what happens.

I am going to attempt to keep this short, and rather vague (sorry but I just don’t wan to ruin any of the fun that is reading through this and learning everything as you go). But I shall do my best to tell you about this awesomeness, with the help of some sweet pics and gifs along the way, of course!

I have read my fair share of Devon Ashley books, and I can say one thing you can always be sure of when you are reading something of hers, is that it’s going to be something fresh. Something a little different from anything else you’ve been reading. Devon Ashley gives good book. She always gives me something I didn’t even know I wanted until I got it, and Sparrow 59 is no exception. I adored this book! I enjoyed the spy thriller aspect just as much as I did the smoldering romance between Sam and Drew. Which BTW I totally agree the author’s dream casting for these characters

         I was so intrigued by the covert Sparrow group. I loved seeing them as a stealthy powerful unit, and I loved it even more once the shit really hit the fan and we got to see a few of it’s operatives branch out and navigate the dangerous world of secret spies and enemies all alone, some without any knowledge of what is even going on around them, or who they even are! I mean who isn’t into a good government group of badasses shrouded in secrecy?

    Sam was an amazing heroine. I just freaking loved that she was the leading lady, and how kick ass she was. It was nice to see a strong, smart lady ride in and save the guy for a change!

  It was non stop action right from the very beginning, up until the shocking ending. High adrenaline, swoon worthy fun. I was really left guessing what was going on throughout most of this story, but it was one hell of a ride figuring it out right along side Drew and Sam. That ending though…..BRUTAL!!! I am in awe. I was not expecting that at all!

  You are an evil sorceress, Devon Ashley. You have charmed me completely with your wicked ways! I can’t wait to see what happens next! First book in The Sleepers Coalition has started, and ended, with one hell of a bang! I will just be here desperately, and shamelessly awaiting teasers and scraps from the second book. Well done, Mrs.Ashley!

I loved this book!! I am going to keep this short and sweet. This was not what I was expecting from a book with this cover and title! Just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover. I totally expected a trashy NA but what I got was so much better! One of my favorite things about Wallbanger was the slow building romance. I will admit at times it did feel a little immature for their ages. BUT, that totally worked for me. The innocence of it really reminded me of all the thrill and excitement of having a crush on someone. It completely charmed me.

I also immensely enjoyed the humor in this book. There were quite a few laugh out loud moments, which I always appreciate. The addition of Clive the cat was perfection. He was such a huge comedic presence in this book, and it only enriched the story.

I honestly would have given this book 5 stars if not for the overabundance of "O" references, that's O as in her missing Orgasm. I got why it was in the story, and I was cool with it. Actually I freaking LOVED that their first time wasnt perfect, you almost never see that, and it was so realistic and refreshing. But the whole talking to her missing orgasm throughout the book, and eventually giving her(?) a face.....no. It was too much for me, and felt vaguely similar to a certain inner monologue with an "inner goddess" that I've read before. And sorry but, I cared for that even less. It wasn't bad here, just too much for me to give this a perfect rating. I highly recommend this!! I will definitely be reading the next one....very soon. Can't wait to see more from this author, I'm super impressed!

I'm not sure where I stand after reading this book. I wasn't in love with it, nor did I hate it. I was somewhere sitting comfortably in the middle I suppose. Honestly, this is a story line that I feel like I have read a bunch of times now....billionaire bad boy who is the epitome of hotness falls nearly instantly for the straight-laced, pretty average girl with the heart of gold, and lest us not forget the kind of slutty best friend of hers and the stalker/ex that is out to get her, which the billionaire ends up coming to the rescue. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad story line, but please give me a little something new. Just a little something different to the table. The only thing I can say that was different is that the leading lady, Kristen, wasn't as whiney as the typical girl in the story. Although, even with those brownie points, she still feel short for me. The whole should I or shouldn't I struggle gets tired after awhile.


I probably would have given this book a 3 star rating if not for the awkward placing of the ending. What happened?! Just as soon as I finally felt like the story was coming to life, BAM it's over. It didn't even make sense. Was this supposed to be a novella? It didn't feel right at all. I wasn't expecting it to end there at all. I think it's cheap to cut a story off just when it's finally going somewhere just to get the reader to buy the second book to have a full story.


I suppose I would give the second book a try, just to see how the story progresses from here, if only because I have read some of Priscilla West's other work and enjoyed it, but I won't be running out the door to get it at this point.
