Seems like an interesting read but it’s more a memoir than a critique of fairy tales, which is ultimately what I wanted and how the book was advertised. If you want to read a disability memoir, I’m sure it will suit your tastes.

Great reference book and love Harold schechter but shouldn’t have tried to read it straight through like a normal book.
Ugh just read lore Olympus instead. I was so bored and confused the promise of smut wasn’t even worth it. I’ll just find some Hades/Persephone on AO3.
Felt YAish and bland. Didn’t feel compelled to keep going.
Fine enough but didn’t catch my interest. I think this might be more of a YA novel.
Fun concept about a little known myth, but it got really repetitive really fast. It felt like it was just a series of new people meeting the maids and giving there reactions and not much else.

Desiree’s life seems fascinating, but almost 50 pages in and I’m not hooked by this book. Just not what I’m into reading right now I guess.
