I did not enjoy the audiobook’s narration, but it was just a matter of personal preference. I might try to read this book rather than listening to it.

An excellent read for anybody interested in prison abolition and restorative justice as they relate to the problem of sexual violence in North America (mostly USA-based). I know that in my experience when talking to non-abolitionists about the criminal justice system, the first question many people ask is “how do we do protect people from [rapists/pedophiles/etc.] if there are no [police/prisons/registries]?” This book actually lays out what we CAN do to prevent sexual violence, facilitate healing for survivors, and respond to sexual harm without the carceral state. This was a transformative read for me as a sex educator, feminist, and abolitionist. It was somewhat difficult due to the content, but worth the time I took to read it in depth.
