Fast-paced, shocking twists, unputdownable!

Warner's writing style is so engaging, I only meant to pick it up for a little while before bed but I was hooked (needless to say it turned into a late-night - I didn't put it down again until I'd reached the very last page!).

The first half of the book is told from his point of view and the second hers. She is a fabulously irresistible Bella on the outside but chilling obnoxious on the inside, what a character. But the whole cast of characters is totally fascinating.

I really love how it challenges stereotypes around abuse, we learn she is the villain in this picture! It was thoroughly entertaining and I literally gasped out loud, I was so shocked by the big twist. It is hard to say more without spoilers - but I do highly recommend grabbing yourself a copy.

I did not finish this one, after reading 112 pages I thought it was really slow & strange... what was with those crickets?! I loved the cover and the tagline but that only goes to prove I shouldn't judge a book by its cover hahaa.

I loved the way it was written, the characters and the language are spot on. The plot intriguing and the twists were fabulous. I can see why she is the queen of crime!

I just found it very odd...

This novel is a slow burner and definitely takes its time to get going but it is worth sticking with the scene-setting and character building. The characterization is brilliant, I particularly enjoyed Crystal's character first portrayed as an airhead trophy wife Atkinson shows us she has real depth, compassion, and strength as she is tested throughout the story.

The very dark subject matter is entwined & balanced with humour, the witty, sarcastic kind. It beautifully observes humanity and reveals the more annoying personality traits in a funny relatable way.

The various plotlines are all played out perfectly (maybe a little too perfect but hey it is fiction after all). It was great to finally catch up with Brodie and few other old faces again, fear not if you haven't read the rest of the series you don't need to Big Sky can be read as a standalone - though it's not his best book and you would be missing out!
