Kelly is on the cusp of developing a vaccine against a potential biological terrorist attack and after it looks she is in danger, her family insist she has bodyguard for her own safety. She reluctantly agrees but only to stop them worrying, after all she's only a scientist it's not like is royalty or a celebrity... what is the worst that could happen?

This unique plot is the perfect blend of romance, humour, action and suspense (with a sprinkle of raunchiness). Freeman certainly kept me entertained throughout with all the twists and turns thrown at the unlucky duo. Her characters are instantly lovable, Kelly is independent, talented and intelligent and Ben is a real life, totally gorgeous action man and before you know it you'll be rooting for them to overcome their own stubbornness, let go of their own hang-ups and give each other a real chance. A heart-warming and funny tale.... can Kelly and Ben find romance among the danger and the bullet or are the pair completely doomed?

Audrey is determined to bridge the gap between her daughters Lily and Jess who have spent the last 30 years not talking to each other. But after so many years of silence and secrets can the damage ever be repaired?

I love the premise of this novel, the cover is gorgeous and I had heard countless great things about it, so I wanted to like this book, I really did... But whilst it's very well written and beautiful in parts it just didn't hit the spot for me. The 'if only I could tell you' secret was drawn out to long then after the big reveal you are hit again and again with the worst scenario's life has to offer. I did love the choir sideline story it was uplifting and joyous! There are many triggering topics within the pages illness, miscarriage and suicide among others. I think this would make a brilliant book club read as it is incredibly divisive but ultimately touching.

Poppy is finally getting to live in the idyllic village of her dreams Nightingale Square, joining their community garden and pursuing her passion of chutney making out of home grown produce. But will her new found happiness be shattered by her next door neighbour who's demeanour closely resembles that of a grizzle bear or her troubled teenage brother who turns up to live with her?

I absolutely loved this novel, it's the perfect heartwarming summery read! With a sprinkle of trouble and strife along the way... After all life never is plain sailing is it? Swain's characters all have depth and their own unique personalities, their own stories you would love to know more of. This novel is the perfect escapism the fictional world and community created here is one you are instantly transported to and wish you could be part of! If you are a fan of Milly Johnson you'll love this.

You certainly don't need to have read the other books in Nightingale Square series to enjoy this one (but you would be doing yourself a disservice!). I for one can't wait for the next one!!

When Sam misses out on the partnership she has been slogging her guts out for 10 long years to a male colleague, she leaves the celebratory lunch and emails her resignation. Left reeling by this unexpected turn of events and not wanting to break the news to her disappointed family she packs a bag and hops on the train that will take her furthest away... and so her Cornish adventure begins!

This a thoroughly enjoyable read you can easily get lost in, Little Penhaven is a hive of secrets, drama and community spirit and Sam is the American novelty! Though she soon settles into the quieter pace of life helping at a boot sale and surprising the villagers with her DIY skills. Lose yourself in this charming setting, with a brooding hero (Poldark eat your heart out) and join Sam on her life changing journey.
