I recently read this to my son. It took us FOREVER to get through it - I think we were just both bored. Many times while reading this I thought about why I loved this book as a kid. The overall message, the writing, and the characters are great....but, it's just...boring. Maybe I am remembering my love for the animated movie of this book.
