As good as the first in the series. Very much looking forward to the third installment.

My son is becoming obsessed with this series. Lots of action, a spooky story, and a storyline continuing through each book in the series makes this a great bedtime read.

An essay collection that should be required reading.

The second volume is just as, if not, more powerful than the first. Starts with the Freedom Riders and ends with the March on Washington and the bombing of Birmingham's Sixteenth Street Baptist Church.

A satisfying conclusion to this trilogy.

I enjoyed this as much as the first. The storyline wasn't as engaging as the first (I'm not sure if it was because this was all present-day versus the alternating past/present in the first book or something else entirely). However, it was action-packed and sets up the third book perfectly.

A very solid debut novel. Intricate plotting, with alternating past and present storylines. A complicated, flawed main character. This has assassins, love, revenge, action, and secrets. It's also a hard look into human trafficking. There are several very graphic/violent scenes.
