Supper interesting story! Will 100% get the sequel!

There is a LOT of blood and mentions of blood so if that's not your feel maybe try something different.

It has a very witchy vibe. Lots of moon symbolism, and talks of rituals, and bones.

The book is basically about a group of Grim Reaper women and their task of guiding the dead. It was supper interesting so read. It's got alot going on.

the Romance between Annalese and Bastion was cute but also felt kinda "insta love" -y. And then to find out that they aren't even soulmates was a bit of a let down. I get it happened, like plot wise and connecting Annalese to her mother's story and all, but it felt really sudden. Like it never goes well, in my opinion, to throw in a brand new major player durring the last few chapters

Very engaging and fun!

I loved the book!! And so do a LOT of other people given that it took me MONTHS to even get my hands on a copy!!

I love the story! I love the charecters! There were bits that I saw coming but it kept me on the edge of my seat most the time

My one gripe is
why was Deen even included? Like he was WASTED as a charecter! His death was deep and impact full for... Ten pages? Then his death really only served to keep the main couple apart. Like even Zafira will go chapters forgetting he was even there, then have a moment with Nasir and be like, "oh yeah, Deen, he existed." Like if you're going to kill someone make it hit. This death didn't hit. </Spoiler>

I loved the setting. I hear alot of people say it's confusing (and now that I have actually read it thats clearly just racism) like do  you have a second graders comprehension level? It flows expertly and keep you engaged.

I love the charecters! I really do! I can't with these boys! I know they SAY they hate each other but they are best friends I just know it!

Really cute, and way fun! Will 100% be reading the sequel as soon as I can get my hands on it but it was not my easiest read. I initially got it because the author is so sweet and personable but I really did enjoy it. That being said there were some parts that I cringed at just casue it was worded weirdly or the dialogue felt 'this has to happen for plot reasons' rather than because that would actually come up in conversation. The romance was cute,
gotta love a one bed, healing the others wounds trope
and there was a part at the very end that threw me through a loop. I was shook!

The 'villans' of the story are a really cool idea, but didn't get as flushed out as I would have liked. With it being a duology I worry about how many threads will have to be left untied because there just wasnt time to finish them.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the end of the story! And to seeing more from this author!
