Whenever we've discussed horror, my mom would always bring up her favorite horror story but was always unable to recall the title and author. After years of this, I finally decided to take to Google and figure it out so I could the story for myself. Not too much later, I discovered the title (the second short of this collection, "After Dark") and I immediately put this book on my wishlist. I'm glad I did because not only did I love that story, but I loved just about every story in the book! I'll definitely be recommending it to my friends and at some point I'd like to get the author's other short horror collection.

my only complaint is that it's too short! it sets up such a fascinating world, and i was delighted with the lgbtqia+ inclusion. i would love to read a novel length version of this story, or even a different story in the same world.
