When the zombie enemies were introduced, I thought this was going to be a one-off detour like with Miles, but it looks like these strange reality-bending happenings are all part of the main villain's plans and will be explained. Lots of action, cool looking villain. Glad to see Xavier get a more active role. He and Riri have a fun dynamic

I'm really loving this contest of stories with Ananse. Erzulie has some small victories but things aren't looking good for her. How will she escape?
I really liked Mari and Hazel's chemistry. Hazel's character design was great, and I thought she was especially well-drawn. I appreciated the family dynamics and Hazel's relationship with her husband James. I thought he would be one-note, but he had some layers in the little time he gets.

I really liked that Anansi and his folklore was the base for this comic. I'd read some of the stories of Anansi as a kid and so it was nice to see this reimagining. Readers didn't need to come in with a knowledge of Anansi to understand the story. The panels of Osebo possessing his victims are well-drawn and unsettling. I was a little thrown off by the change in art styles between the cover and the story. I'd describe the style as more impressionistic, but I still enjoyed it.
I liked the artwork and coloring. I think that the character designs, especially of the elves, were new and refreshing. I was iffy on the plot. After reading, I found out that this story is part of a larger universe. Maybe the plot would have made more sense to me had I read the rest of the universe, but it was fine as a stand-alone too.
