“Making It So” By Patrick Stewart
📕 Edition: Audiobook
This memoir is full of history, from his humble origins in Yorkshire to his meteoric rise in Hollywood. 🎭🚀
The book offers insight into his illustrious career, chronicling his successes both on stage and on screen, notably in Star Trek and X-Men. His storytelling is as commanding as his onscreen presence, making this a compelling read for fans and newcomers alike. 📚🌟
However, it doesn't shy away from the complexities of Stewart's personal life, including his relationships. While the memoir is a celebration of his achievements, the revelation of infidelities might give readers some pause. The stark honesty about his past, including regrets and mistakes, adds a layer of human authenticity to an otherwise larger-than-life persona.
The only thing this didn't really address is his children. It mentions them but doesn’t go into any detail, as he apparently has no relationship with them now. Though I can see why he would also not want to address that.

“A Power Unbound” By Freya Marske
📕 Edition: Audiobook
So, after not loving the first book in the series, I skipped the second book and dove straight into this one. Similar to the first book, I just wasn’t drawn into the magic. However, the 🌶️🌶️🌶️ in this one was definitely better and kept more of my interest. If everything else had been removed, I'd give it 4 stars! 😆
If I ever reread the first book, I'll come back to this one as well.

“Mother, Nature: A 5,000-Mile Journey to Discover if a Mother and Son Can Survive Their Differences” By Jedidiah Jenkins
📕 Edition: eBook & Audiobook
This heartfelt memoir took me on an emotional 5,000-mile journey, just like the author and his mother, Barbara. As someone raised in a religious household, I deeply connected with the themes of faith and family that permeate this book.
Jenkins beautifully weaves a story of love and differences, taking us on a trip through the American landscape and the complexities of human relationships. I was captivated by the exploration of how beliefs can pull families apart but also how shared passions and experiences can bring them closer.
The bond between Jedidiah and his mother is both touching and thought-provoking. The journey to retrace the steps of Barbara's iconic walk across America in the '70s is a wonderful backdrop for their evolving relationship.
👩👦 As they grapple with their disagreements, the story delves into universal questions of family, boundaries, and standing up for oneself. This book is a tender and profound meditation on love and resilience.
Jenkins offers a moving and relatable narrative that reminds us of the enduring power of family bonds despite our differences. 🌟

“Emmett” By Lev A.C. Rosen
📕 Edition: eBook & Audiobook
A modern-day LGBTQ+ retelling of Jane Austen's classic, "Emma." 🏳️🌈 This book transports you to Highbury Academy in Los Angeles, where Emmett, a handsome and clever young man, takes center stage.
Emmett's journey to play matchmaker for his friend Harrison leads to a rollercoaster of emotions and discoveries. 🎢 He's charismatic, conceited, and sure he knows it all, but his character growth is where the magic happens. 🪄
I found myself both charmed and captivated by this book, and I couldn't help but root for Emmett as he navigated the complexities of his relationships and his own understanding of love.

“The Alpha’s Son” By Penny Jessup

This was a delightful gay wolf shifter romance that I thoroughly enjoyed! 🌈🐺 This story is both heartwarming and heart-wrenching, and I couldn't put it down.
Max is uninterested in the whole "mate" obsession that plagues his pack. But fate has other plans, and when Max's path crosses with Jasper, the alpha's son, their connection is electrifying. 😍💔
The author weaves a beautiful narrative of self-discovery and acceptance, making you root for Max and Jasper's love against all odds.
The writing is both humorous and poignant, keeping you emotionally invested in the characters. I can't wait to continue Max and Jasper's journey in the next book! 🌟📖
