In terms of what I liked, the black and white art was a good choice for this story, it gave me vibes of Creepy and Eerie anthology comics which often play into supernatural elements with themes of morality.

I love the wide shots of the dock and the town, they were very scenic and Jeff did a lot to convey the drearyness of the town with his minimal art style.

The books is incredibly sad, the loss of one's father and the journey of acceptance being mirrored with Jack's own insecurities as a forthcoming father. There is clear emotional storytelling, but it's sad that it didn't resonate with me.

Jeff did a good job conveying what Jack is sacrificing with his obsession over his father. Susan and his mother were present in the moment, but Jack was all too willing to throw that away for a semblance of "closure".

The flashback scenes worked well here, it was like a rubber band that snapped back and forth without reason or rhyme, which worked well for this type of storytelling.

I wish they addressed his relationship with his mother at the end, it was touched on in "ghost land" but I think there was more needed here!
