I picked this book up for the 2020 DesertAThon. It was my pick for the prompt of a book with a read cover.

I really like the general idea of the Descendants story line. I liked the movies a lot. Sadly, the first book was not really my cup of tea but the sequel sure gave me the feelings the movies gave me. I enjoyed reading it.

First time reading: True rating 3.5

I picked up this book for Reading Rush 2019. The challenge was to pick up a book with a purple colour.

I'm currently living for paranormal (everything but vampires) stories. This one especially talked to me because of the title... which was also the reason why I bought and picked it up blindly (which is also why I only realized towards the ending that this has to be a new series. Please tell me it's a series)

The story itself had a few twists that were entertaining me a lot while reading. The magic system was nothing new but nicely described in this story. I really liked seeing that the magic had a history. The ending was good. I was surprised but I also basically read it in one go so that's that.

The characters were nice. I honestly was not really interested in the drama between our two ex lovers but the new romance was sweet and I liked it even more because of that special twist towards the end ^__^

All in all good book. I was entertained and I enjoyed it.

Second time read: Rating is 4 stars according to CAWPILE.

I found out in a bookconline panel that the sequel is already out which made me go and reread the first book before finally reading the sequel. I liked the first book but the sequel is even better in my opinion. The stakes are higher and the way the whole story got resolved was absolutely to my liking. I hope the Salem witches in this book can now have a calm happy life in this newly formed witch world of theirs.

I really really wanted to love this book because of my love for kpop and because I'm currently plus sized. Sadly, this was not the case.

I will write a more detailed review about the things I did not like but also about the things I liked about this book (it's 3 stars for me so there are some strong points in there that made me like this book) soon
