The Witches Are Coming is a witty, sharp cultural critique. With topics spanning from the #metoo movement to the author's personal experience with Gwyneth Paltrow's GOOP retreat, there is something in this book for everyone. West is unapologetic with her views on the world and I really enjoyed the tone she decided to write in. As this title was published in 2019, I would love to hear what she thinks of the world in its current state. I will definitely be searching for her on different social media platforms and checking out her show on Hulu because reading this book was simply not enough. I need more Lindy West in my life.

The Revolution of Birdie Randolph has been on my radar since it was published in 2019 and I was super excited to finally get around to reading it. First of all, the cover of this book is gorgeous. The artwork played a big role in my desire to read this one if I am being completely honest. The story itself was just okay though. There were some big topics tackled such as the school-to-prison pipeline and substance addiction. Colbert, the author, handled these issues with grace but did not shy away from showing how they disproportionately impact the lives of people of color. I didn't love all the family drama in this book, but I understand it was crucial to the plot. Those who can overlook this aspect of the writing will probably rate this title higher than I did.

Ruth Ware does it again. She has officially earned a spot on my favorite thriller/mystery authors list. This is just the second book I have read from her, but both titles were so unique and well written. One by One is a murder mystery set in France at a mountain chalet. Through vivid imagery, I actually felt like I was there. It definitely helped that I read this during the winter and could visualize the snowy setting Ware writes about. In addition to this, the storyline was not predictable and the ending caught me by surprise. Overall, this title is a satisfying suspenseful read!

When I was approved to read this title early, I was beyond excited. I had loved the first two books in The Brown Sisters series and the last installment did not let me down. This time around it's Eve's - Chloe and Dani's youngest sister - turn to find love. And boy does she! Talia Hibbert, the author, does such a great job crafting inclusive romances (and doesn't shy away from steamy scenes). If you haven't read any of her work before, I would recommend starting with this series, as it is completely adorable. Eve's love interest wasn't my favorite character (let's be honest though, nobody could top Zaf - the love interest of book two), but I still really enjoyed reading this novel. I will miss the Brown sisters and their shenanigans. Make sure you have this title on your radar for upcoming book releases!

So I am totally late to the party, but I absolutely loved this book. I have already started reading the second title in The Lunar Chronicles series and hope to finish them all this year. As a lover of fairytale retellings, I appreciated the similarities the author kept with the Cinderella story. However, I also really enjoyed the original story plotlines Meyer included. I cannot even begin to fathom the amount of imagination the author used to come up with the world that this piece is set in. I look forward to continuing the story (because holy cliffhanger!).

Molly is a recent high school graduate who comes home after spending her senior year at an elite private school. Her mother is a well known, respected author who became famous by writing a steamy love novel primarily based off of her daughter's life. The summer before Molly's senior year Molly finds herself in a complicated love triangle between two brothers, Patrick and Gabe Donnelly. Throughout the whole summer Molly cheats on the two brothers without either of them knowing. Molly confesses what she's been doing all summer to her mother, and her mother turns it into her next book. Even though she changes the names in the novel, it doesn't take long for her small hometown to finally realize what Molly had been doing the whole summer. Both brothers are extremely upset with Molly and each other. In the fall, Molly leaves behind her hometown and all the gossip that is being said about her. This book, 99 Days, begins when Molly comes home for the first time following summer.
Katie Cotugno does a fantastic job of describing and creating the characters in this book. She takes the time and develops them until they each have their own unique personalities. The problem I had with this novel, and the reason I gave it two stars was that there was no growth within our main character, Molly. I often got bored with this novel because there weren't many exciting moments. The ending of this book was boring and would have been better if the protagonist had learned a lesson and/or changed at all.
Overall I would not recommend this book to anyone unless you are looking for a filler material type of book with insignificant drama and some raunchy love scenes. This novel left me disappointed and I feel like I wasted time reading it.
