If the male love interest had been named Harry Styles, this book could have easily passed as a fanfiction I read in middle school on Tumblr. The writing felt amateurish, and the plot was underwhelming. I wouldn’t have finished Starstruck if I hadn’t received it from the publisher in exchange for a review.

While I loved the gothic atmospheric writing of this story, I found the plot to be quite predictable. That said, I was impressed with White’s writing and would love to explore her work further, perhaps in a longer format. Unfortunately, this novella just wasn’t for me.
I’ve read and loved every book Schumacher has written. Her characters are endearing, and the stories she creates for them are always a delight to read. Say It Out Loud marks her first foray into writing for an adult audience (her previous titles are YA), and she absolutely nailed it. Even as someone unfamiliar with the Twilight series, which heavily influences this book, I truly enjoyed the story! Fans of slow-burn romance, second-chance romance, and the Twilight franchise should keep this title on their radar when it publishes in September.

With its slow-paced plot and unlikable protagonist, I found it difficult to enjoy The Farewell Tour. Marketed as a book for fans of Daisy Jones & The Six, I was excited to read about a strong female artist breaking glass ceilings in the male-dominated music industry. However, I don’t think the comparison did the book any favors, as I found Daisy Jones to be a much better-paced story. I likely had too high of expectations going into this title.

Set in Wyoming on her family’s ranch, Clementine “Emmy” falls for her brother’s best friend, Luke Brooks. And yes—Brooks is a cowboy on said ranch. This book is HOT. If you even think you might have a thing for cowboys, this is one you absolutely need to pick up. The chemistry between the love interests is sizzling, and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series!
