This unfiltered memoir is magical. Sánchez is known to the book world for her fiction writing, but I absolutely devoured this collection of nonfiction essays. Her ability to discuss serious topics (mental health, sex, and racism just to name a few) while simultaneously making snarky remarks was just what I needed. Crying in the Bathroom is a must-read for other feminists who can't resist some deadpan humor.

I haven't read a book from Rowell in many years and I picked up Landline on a whim. While I had only read her YA books before, I did enjoy reading this adult novel. Georgie, the protagonist, was whiny but, I think that was intentional. We, the readers, are not supposed to like her so we can later root for her eventual character development. The magic phone was a neat touch and was ultimately the deciding factor in my four-star rating (it was a toss-up between three and four stars).

While I am not a huge fan of the forbidden romance trope, this workplace romance swept me off my feet. I absolutely loved the banter between the two love interests, Izzy and Blake, and was really rooting for the couple to make it despite their unique situation. Accidentally Amy is a sweet romance that will have you laughing the entire time. Keep this one in mind for when you need an easy, mindless read!
