Mara and Liam, the love interests, share delightful banter in this novella. I love Hazelwood’s choice to spotlight women in STEM fields in her stories, and I think it’s time I pick up one of her full-length novels next!
Stuck with You was a little cringey at times, but the steamy scenes definitely made up for it! Sadie and Erik share a one-night stand before being thrown into a major (perceived) conflict. The novella follows them as they navigate miscommunication and their intense desire for each other. I’d recommend this trilogy of novellas to romance readers looking for something quick, spicy, and entertaining!

I loved this backlist title! It had been on my tbr for a long time, and a reading challenge I am participating in finally got me to read it. The Night Circus has beautiful prose and dynamic characters. I can see where the criticisms of the novel come from, as it is very slow-paced. But if you can dedicate yourself to the story, you will be gifted with an absolutely stunning story.

I found this memoir to be absolutely fascinating! Williams is a trauma surgeon who was on the clock during the 2016 shooting of Dallas police officers during a Black Lives Matter protest. Throughout this novel, he contemplates racial inequity in health care, gun violence, and his own identity as a Black man in medicine. Overall, this was a well-written, thoughtful memoir that I would recommend to every type of reader.

I did not realize how central religion would be to this story when I picked it up. It was over the top for me, as God, prayer, and the church were mentioned in every (short!) chapter. I went in looking for a holiday romance novella and walked away feeling like I had just read some major Christian propaganda.

Drift read more as a prologue to a full novel than a novella. It was nice to revisit Willa, one of my favorite characters from The World of the Narrows series, but she deserved more than this short piece! Fingers crossed we get more of Willa and Koy’s story in the future.

In this novel, we follow Amy, a medical student, on an overnight shift at a psychiatric ward. Throughout the night, people go missing, and weird things happen, leaving her on edge. The plot became unbelievable as the story went on, and while it had a good surprise twist, I just found this title to be okay. If you are looking to try a book from McFadden, I recommend trying Never Lie instead.
