I liked this book a lot better than the 1st one. If you are on the fence of continuing this series I think you should.
There are still 6 POVs in this book but I do think they are easily distinguishable and I genuinely enjoy all of them (The Sora, Aeri & Mikail are my favorites though). I love this group of unlikely allies working together (or are they?). The characters split up and come back together throughout the book and I think the author does a great job of making the plot still feel cohesive. The main reason I think this book is better than Five Broken Blades is that the plot & subplot seem to flip flop. The romance definitely takes a back seat and we really get to dig into the fantasy elements. I love the increased world building & magical items. The writing has improved since book 1 as well. Originally I was unsure about continuing this series and upset after hearing its not a duology (like I had thought). Now I am recommending this to friends and am super excited for the next book!

This was a good, quick, spicy, cowboy romance. City girl & country boy get off on the wrong foot but eventually realize first impressions aren't always correct. & then they fall head over heels in love with each other. This story definitely didn't reinvent the wheel, but it was enjoyable.
Mollie & Cash in the first few chapters were so annoying. They were both acting like spoiled entitled brats and I really thought about DNFing. I am happy I gave them a chance and by the time Mollie made it to the ranch things got a lot better. I enjoyed this part of the story. The characters had good banter and sexual tension. I liked seeing Mollie rediscover parts of herself and learn about her father. Once Mollie & Cash got together, the Insta-lust is off the charts. And I do think the romance moved unrealistically fast. Cash was so emotionally intelligent, no conflict really presented much of a problem. Everything got wrapped up really quickly and cleanly. I hate to say it, but the communication was so good, that it was actually a little boring. I wished there were higher stakes & more drama.
I loved the small town & the found family. I liked getting to know Wyatt and I hope we get more glances into the other brothers sooner rather than later. There was a lot of talk of parental grief & regrets in this book. So please be aware if that's something you struggle with.
