Wilder Girls started out super slow for me, but then it picked up a bit. Then, it fell very, very flat again.
I felt like there were a lot of holes in the story that needed to be addressed. I had a hard time connecting with the characters and just felt like it didn’t live up to its hype.

This was a book that was hard to put down and when you think you’ve guessed what has happened, you got it wrong. I was sure I knew what the twist would be, but then I was totally wrong once the twist came. It is hard to think what the truth is and is why I docked it a star because I was a bit confused with the ending.
The Seduction Expert is a hard to put down read. I loved how narcissistic our main character is and how we see her in her daily life trying to screw cheating men over and doing it all for money. It’s entertaining and addicting. I cannot wait to see where book two takes us and what the consequences will be for B. during her next journey trying to build an empire.
When I first read a Jennifer Weiner book was when I was 12 or 13 and it was Certain Girls. I remember loving that book, but never picked up another book by her until Mrs. Everything.
I will admit there are trigger warnings such as: Rape, Abuse, Drug Use, Racism, and Discrimination.
I really love how this book follows multiple generations of women with their happiness, failures, and struggles. It made Jo and Bethy seem very real along with their family.
I highly recommend this book.

The premise of this book reminds me of the Duggars, aka the show: 19 Kids and Counting. The parents in the show have a lot of children and super religious and was rocked with a scandal a few years ago.
The Book of Essie is about a girl named Esther whose parents are highly religious and have their own television show. She has multiple siblings. One has disappeared from the lime light and does not want anything to do with her family.
The book starts out with Esther finding out she is pregnant and on her 18th birthday, her parents hold a counsel off cameras on what to do about Esther’s “condition.” It is decided Esther must get married to a boy that she barely knows.
As she gets to know this boy, she works along side a reporter to expose a secret her family harbors and turns a blind eye. She worries if it will hurt her in the long run with her baby or will it hurt her family and friends even more?
The Book of Essie is a page turner and it becomes so gripping and hard to put down due to the drama as well as the warped family views her family shares. What is right? What is wrong? What should you share with the world or turn a blind eye to? Essie definitely grows throughout this book and has a voice that stands out from the other characters in the book. I highly recommend this book.
