I struggled to start this one if only because of one thing.
Spoiler
Catalina is an annoying brat for the first half of the book.

If I could give this 10 stars I would.
This story is absolutely breathtaking, not just because I'm sick and can't breathe.
It's beautiful and sad in the same way the house from Blink is beautiful and sad,if you know you know.
Please do yourself a favor and read this books.

I was already in college when this book came out, I didn't have the immediate connection to Katniss that I would have had I read it as a teen. With that said though it has been almost a decade since I last read the series and it still stands up.
This has caused some discourse in the book circles I am in but I believe Suzanne Collins to be the progenitor of the modern-day dystopian genre.

I have been ruined by Hollywood and have forgotten they Suzanne Collins helped make the modern-day dystopian genre what it is. Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes did not disappoint, except in that it ended too soon.

Oh man this book. It started off a little slow, not unbearably but still. It definitely picked up pace however around chapter 6 or 7 and then again around chapter 22 and I found it hard to put down.
