Overall, I did enjoy this book. I thought it was a cute adventurous contemporary filled with travel that gave me some wanderlust. I think that the author was very well versed in her travel knowledge and the amount of detail she put into each place that the characters visited was really great.
I wasn't overly invested in these characters. I wanted so badly to love them, but to me they were just okay. Sydney grew on me. I wasn't a huge fan of hers to start with, but as the novel continued I started to understand her more and enjoy her wittiness and humour. Leela, on the other hand, I was not a big fan of in general. I found her relationship with Sydney to be annoying at times and I think in general I just was bothered by her. Jackson was enjoyable at times and I did like seeing how his relationship with Sydney progressed, however, I found major milestones in their relationship to not be detailed enough for my liking.
The other thing I disliked about this book was the ending. It felt super rushed and it was like the ending was done in three pages rather than a natural move towards an end.
If you want a cute contemporary read with lots of travel in it, then this is the book for you. It was a good read, but I wish there was more I could have gotten out of it. I'll be interested to see how the storyline continues ... since it was left in a way that gives me an indication it will continue.

This was a really great festive read! I was so curious when I heard about this book and the fact that it was a modern twist on Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol.
I was really pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed reading it. I don't want to spoil the book for you, but there were a number of twists and turns that I was not expecting that ended up making this book unpredictable and totally enjoyable!
I think this book has the potential of being a re-read for me around the Holiday season!

* HarperCollins Canada sent me an ARC of Top Ten in exchange for an honest review.
Top Ten was a charming and quick contemporary read. I thoroughly enjoyed the pacing and the storyline of this book. I specifically enjoyed how well Katie Cotugno wrote about anxiety and the difficulties that come with concussions. Both of these aspects deepened the characters and really showed their flaws, which was quite refreshing. I also loved that the book was a top ten look at moments from the characters four years of high school. It was interesting to see how Cotugno weaved in other top ten moments within each chapter, such as top ten non-touristy things to do in new York.
The ending was not what I expected and was a little bit of a let down. However, I feel like it was the proper ending for this book and it definitely highlighted the natural progression of these characters throughout their storyline.
Overall, this was a really enjoyable book and I recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, contemporary book. Definitely a great summer read, or for those looking for a book with a nostalgic look back at high school.

I don't even know how to collect my thoughts right now.
This book was wonderful. It was magical and suspenseful and filled with mischief. I am so surprised that this book is a debut novel; it was written with such poise.
This book never kept me in one direction and I loved that. I was taken through twists and turns, betrayals and sabotages, love and lust. I never once knew where the book was taking me and I found it such a refreshing change from most of the books I have read before. I loved that the book was set up for the option of a continuation but that it also provided closure for what I had just read. Again, super refreshing!
I cannot wait for more from this author and to provide a full in depth review on my blog. If you haven't read this book yet, GO!! It is so worth it.

I received a copy of this book from Penguin Random House Canada in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! I really enjoyed this book. It was intriguing, suspenseful, and romantic. I loved the backdrop of Victorian London as it made the story that much more interesting. Leo's character was written well and I couldn't help but like her and hope for the best for her!
Overall, I would highly recommend this to people interested in young adult historical fiction novels and those who like young adult romance. Definitely would read this again!
