Suspenseful, fast paced and filled with adventure and action. Totally surprised with how much I enjoyed this book. The characters were all great and Hall's writing was very engaging! I'm looking forward to continuing the series at some point!

I enjoyed this book so much, I devoured it in one sitting. Lauren Graham is charming, sophisticated and hilarious. Her writing made me feel as though I was sitting down as her friend and having a chat.

Fans of Gilmore Girls (like myself) will not be disappointed in this book. And you will quite often find yourself forgetting that Lauren played the part of Lorelai, rather than Lauren actually being Lorelai.

Everything, Everything was absolutely everything!

My first Nicola Yoon book and certainly not the last! Her writing is captivating and humourous and the style of the book, with illustrations was so great! If you haven't read this yet, you really have to (I devoured the whole thing in one sitting!)

Once again, Cassandra Clare was able to tug at my heartstrings and break my heart all with the written word.

Lady Midnight was a really slow start for me. I actually ended up putting it down and starting it back up again a few times. This was something that was so different because the majority of her books I was sucked in so fast that I felt like I blinked and the book was finished.

The book definitely had a slow start for me and I really had trouble getting drawn into the story but I am so so glad I kept trying. Despite the slow start, this book was full of plot twists and omg moments and constant swoony moments that are usually tied with those in the Shadowhunter world.

Fans of Cassandra Clare books should definitely pick this one up! But I highly recommend reading her other series (TMI and TID) before this one - there is information / plots / characters that need some background info!

Now onto Lord of Shadows ....

Seriously such a cute contemporary read. I am so so so happy I picked this one up. Not only was it charming and adorable, but it was just written so well. I picked it up on a whim one day at Chapters purely based on its cover and simple title.

The characters were enjoyable and their development throughout the two parts of the book was written well. My favourite part of this book was the wanderlust it gave me for Italy. While only a small portion of the book took place in Italy, Lindner really made it jump through the pages for me and I really loved it. I can’t wait for the next time that I’ll be able to go back for a visit!

I was really drawn to this book when I heard it was almost like Gossip Girl set in the future. I wasn't a huge fan of the Gossip Girl books but I enjoyed the tv show so I was really looking forward to reading this book.

Overall, I would say it was alright, but nothing overly special. The characters were written well and McGee is clearly a very talented author. I really enjoyed Rylin's storyline as well as Watt's. I also found the start of the novel to be intriguing - beginning with what was to happen at the end of the book provides a lot of suspicion and mystery that certainly kept me drawn to the book.

That being said, I found some faults that led me to give this book a 3 star rating. First, Avery and Atlas' storyline was just too much for me. Second, I found myself to be confused sometimes with the technology of the future - it could do with some more explanation. Third, I really just found myself getting a bit tired of drugs and parties.

Despite this, I will be checking out the sequel as the ending was something that really captured me!

Such an exciting and intriguing sequel. This book was more fast paced then the first and filled with more suspense, mystery and romance. I absolutely loved the character development of Avery and Stellan in this novel. It was something that was written brilliantly. And the history!!! Maggie Hall is amazing at weaving history with an intricate storyline.

I can't wait to see how this series ends!

I had such high hopes for this book and it just fell flat entirely for me.

I'm a big fan of Sherlock Holmes stories and the movie / tv show adaptations. Sherlock's character has always been an enigma to me and I've always thoroughly enjoyed his personality and amazing detective skills. So needless to say, when I heard about this modern twist on Sherlock Holmes, and that the main character was going to be a female, I was drawn in.

This book has sat on my TBR shelf for a while, and I finally decided it was time to pick it up and I was so disappointed in how much I did not enjoy this book. The plot was confusing and seemed super jumpy to me. I felt like at one moment it was talking about a certain person or event and then in the span of a sentence, it was on to an entirely different topic. It was just not written smoothly enough for me. And the characters - I just was not invested in them. They didn't draw me in. They didn't capture me. I just was not overly invested in how the story was going and what was going to happen in the end. I just felt super bored the entire time I was reading it.

Multiple times I considered putting this book down and considering it a DNF. But alas, I continued until the end. I think I'm just going to chalk up this experience to the fact that this book just wasn't what I had hoped it to be - and that's ok. Not all books are liked by everyone, and this one just happened to be one that wasn't for me.
