The Tiny Kitchen Cookbook: Strategies and Recipes for Creating Amazing Meals in Small Cooking Spaces

Thank you to NetGalley and Storey Publishing for sending me a free ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
The Tiny Kitchen Cookbook is both a cookbook and a guidebook for making small meals in small spaces. It’s filled with excellent, practical tips for making the most of your kitchen space and equipment: from how to efficiently grocery shop and minimize food waste to better organizing your storage and adapting meals for when you just don’t feel like cooking what you had planned. Each recipe is designed for 2 servings, decreasing both the total cook time and the quantity of leftovers that need space to store.
I do wish, though, that recipes with ingredients that potentially could be off-putting to less experienced cooks (such as the whole fish in the recipe “Herbed Redfish with Lemon and Lime” in this cookbook, which was described as sometimes intimidating in the version I received) also included tips for how to eat it, not just how to prepare it.
Overall, this is a great book for anyone currently struggling with cooking in their small kitchen space, those without many appliances, those thinking of downsizing, or even those with large kitchens who want to improve their usability. Thank you again to NetGalley and Storey Publishing for the privilege of reviewing an ARC.

I love niche books like these. This is a great resource, but it would have been nice to also include some information on plant families. [Note: This might be the updated version of Latin For Gardeners, based solely on the difference in publishing dates and that they were both published by Quarto Publishing, although through different university presses.]

I might have enjoyed this more if I wasn’t simultaneously reading The Gardener’s Botanical, which is more recent and comprehensive (both books are published by Quarto Publishing, so I'm guessing The Gardener's Botanical is the updated version). I enjoyed going through this book, but it didn’t have many of the Latin names for the plants I grow.

Absolutely ridiculous and completely entertaining. The plot/characters had a few let-downs for me, but I really enjoyed the consistent humor. Also, I loved the gorgeous chapter illustrations and the use of footnotes for the narration.
