I got the read this for a class I'm taking on Literary Non-fiction, so shoutout to my prof for featuring a queer author/novel in a university setting, since doing so is so rare that this is literally the first time I've had a queer book be part of my curriculum before *slightly sarcastic round of applause*

I really loved this book! Bechdel is so meticulous in every aspect of this book and it really shows. The dialogue, writing, and comics all work so well together and I was incredible to be able to study all the meaning behind everything for class. This was the first thing of Bechdel's that I've read and I can't wait to read more!

2.5 stars

This was just. Alright. It wasn’t great, but I didn’t dislike it. It didn’t start picking up until the halfway point, and even then it wasn’t that gripping for me. The plot twist wasn’t that shocking; I didn’t necessarily see it coming but I wasn’t surprised when it did.

It was a fast read, mildly intriguing, but that’s about it. I wouldn’t recommend it but I wouldn’t NOT recommend it you know what I mean?

The Fire Sermon fell completely flat for me. There was absolutely nothing special about it. All the characters felt the same, the plot wasn’t very interesting, and the world was kind of confusing and didn’t feel very well thought out. The premise sounded really good but the execution was just a snooze fest to be honest. I kept reading because it always felt like it was about to get good, but it never did. Overall, The Fire Sermon was a complete disappointment

I think you would have to be in a certain mood or state of mind to really appreciate these poems. For me as I currently am, I absolutely adored every page. This is something that I could read over and over again and find different ways to love it each time.

2015 Reading Challenge: A book you can finish in a day

I love Sirius; he made me very emotion at the end! And the Patronus, ahhh! This is definitely my favourite of the books so far!

I can't believe I've been missing out on this my whole life! I'm so glad all my friends are huge fans ((and are willing to let me borrow their books XD)) Can't wait to read the rest, and watch all the movies!
