For me it was a very quick read, and of a very different calibre than the other books I have been recently reading. However, I loved the premise and the descriptions used in the novel. I have not yet seen the movie, which I think helped my appreciation. Collins very effectively draws readers in using emotion and description in excellently.
I think Mockingjay was a great finish to the Hunger Games trilogy. The ending offered exactly what books about senseless murder of children, by children needed. It was sad, yet hopeful at the same time.
Puts the TV Show Big Brother in a whole new, albeit inaccurate, light. I think that if it were more like the Big Brother in the book, it'd be actually worth watching.
All I knew about I, Robot when I started reading it is that it was nothing like the movie. I was right. And to be honest, it ruined the movie for me (not that I care). The themes and conflicts expressed in the book are much deeper and are cause for much more thought than in the movie, which makes it seem the director had the literacy of a 7-year-old.
