Nascar, Bigots, and FBI, Oh my! Somehow Tempe Just doesn't learn. She always ends up in trouble. But, her getting out of it is half the fun of the series.
I cannot stand this woman's writing style. I beat my head against atlas shrugged for weeks trying to win that damn essay contest. Shouldn't be surprised about this one.

Well, this was just one of those books where I had extreme difficulty putting aside my writer brain in favor of my reader brain. The Multi-POV narration style really hurt this one from my perspective.
As a writer it (multi-POV) hurt because it was ill-executed. there were too many characters. Some of which only existed to provide a different witness angle for a given scene. Every character should have their own purpose in your story. They should not exists solely to provide a viewpoint that could have easily been provided through exposition. But that's just one writer's opinion.
As for the reader's perspective, I disliked the Multi-POV simply because it was so jarring to the plotline. The world building was decent, and the storyline was good. Where I draw the line is the pacing. I sincerely hope the action sequence was saved until the last five pages because there is going to be a sequel. I really didn't know any character well enough to feel invested and root for them until the last fifty pages or so. This book was an all-around solid read, but it could have been so much stronger.

Wow, absolutely fabulous! Keep 'em coming!
Scarlet Benoit is a farm girl, but she wasn't always. She used to live in Paris, now she lives in rieux. One day her grandmother disappears, scarlet knows she didn't run off, but the police don't agree. She will stop at nothing to find her grandma.
This book was devoured in one and a half sittings. I tried to make it last, really, I did! It was just too good to stop reading. The imagery was on point, and the writing style as always had wonderful flow. Marissa Meyer is swiftly taking up the 2015 favorite author slot for me.

Miss Diana Gabaldon is swiftly becoming one of my favorite authors. She takes us back to a time when life was rough and strange things happen. The seamless blend of sci-fi and historical fantasy is sublime. also there will be an Outlander t.v series, can't wait!

I must admit being an avid watcher of the TV series Bones, which is based on this book series, I was shocked to find that book Tempe and TV Dr. Brennan are nothing alike. Perhaps I could get into it more if I read them from the beginning.

Just as tough to get through as the first one. these books are written in verse, which isn't for everyone.

I found this book exceedingly difficult to read, not only due to subject matter, but the style of writing. It is written in a series of disjointed poems. Very well done, just not for me.

Well, damn, Ms. Halpern. You sure know how to rip a girl's heart out seven ways come sunday.
This book was very cathartic for me as I am still trying to process a sudden cancer related family death.
On to the good stuff. Alex is a teen girl going through hell. there is the usual BS, sure, like betrayal by best friend, but is it usual for that to happen on the heels of a family death?! to cap that off Alex is falling in love and feeling guilty every second thanks to that same best friend previously mentioned. Becca is sick and Alex thinks it is her fault, sort of. Alex thinks that everything is her fault.
I give this book nine out of ten banana bags ( look it up).
