I would like to thank Beena Khan for an advanced copy of The Weight on Skin.
This novel was so powerful and emotional. The way that Kabir lived after Red's death and how he hallucinated her for months at a time .
I'll be honest, I probably should not have read this book now, and it took me way longer than it should've to read it. Death is a huge part in The Weight on Skin and having my grandpa pass last month, it was hard to get through.
That being said, The Weight on Skin is a beautiful novel about lost loves, forgiveness and motivations. Kabir starts to spiral and loses his way, starting to turn into Red and how she lived in her last years. I really loved Kabir's character arc from losing his world and becoming an alcoholic according to everyone else in his life, to turning his life around, going back into Residency and getting closure with Wafa (who I hate, and she deserved everything for what she did).
I loved all the character dynamics and relationships in TWOS, loved all the closure and little things between them.
I highly recommend reading The Weight on Skin for anyone,
5/5
